Has Trump Forgot Who Made Him President?
3 June, 2026: According to a report by Axios published on June 1, 2026, President Donald Trump engaged in an intense and expletive-laden phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The conversation, which took place on Monday, June 1, was reportedly triggered by Israel’s plans to resume military operations and airstrikes in Beirut, Lebanon, which Trump felt would jeopardize ongoing diplomatic efforts to secure a peace agreement with Iran.
According to the report, which cited U.S. officials and other sources familiar with the exchange, President Trump’s comments included the following:
- “What the f* are you doing?” — Trump reportedly shouted this to open the conversation, expressing his frustration with the planned offensive. (theguardian.com)
- “You’re f*ing crazy.”* — He allegedly used this language to describe his view of the Prime Minister’s decision-making regarding the escalation in Lebanon. (axios.com)
- “You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your ass.” — Trump reportedly brought up his own role in shielding Netanyahu from legal or political troubles. (theguardian.com)
- “Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this.” — Trump expressed his belief that the military actions were causing significant damage to Israel’s international standing. (Washington Examiner)
- “If there wasn’t me, there would be no Israel right now.” – However, in a separate context—during an interview on the Pod Force One podcast on June 3, 2026—President Trump made a different remark regarding Israel’s broader security. While discussing his policy toward Iran and his view that Iran would have struck Israel if not for his intervention.
While the United States of America has been on again, off again friends of Israel over the past decades, we have supported Israel on a fairly consistent basis. But in no way, shape or form have we ever been responsible for the safety and continuing protection of the nation of Israel.
Has Trump Forgotten Who Made Him President?
Let’s start by making one thing perfectly clear. It is God himself who protects Israel, not the United States of America, nor Donald Trump. God made a pledge in the Bible that He takes personal responsibility for the protection of Israel, and history has proven that true:
14 I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel,
and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them;
they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine,
and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 I will plant them on their land,
and they shall never again be uprooted
out of the land that I have given them,”
says the LORD your God. – Amos 9:14-15 ESV
These verses have come exactly true, to the very letter. Anyone who denies this denies reality, including Trump. Donald Trump did none of these things, they were accomplished by God Almighty, and he didn’t use Trump, didn’t need Trump and doesn’t need him now. And the sooner the President wakes up to the reality that the God who gave him the Presidency is the God who can take it away, the better off he will be.
Trump’s Famous Inauguration Speech
When Donald Trump was sworn in to office in January of 2025, he included a declaration that we all applauded him for:
“I felt then and believe even more so now that my life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again.”
How soon has he forgotten! History has a way of repeating itself, mainly because man keeps forgetting the lessons of history.
Nebuchadnezzar Syndrome
The comparison to King Nebuchadnezzar—specifically the account in Daniel 4:30 where the king takes personal credit for the greatness of his kingdom—is a reference that has been used by various commentators, theologians, and critics to address themes of pride, ego, and the perceived lack of humility in his leadership..
In that story, the king has a dream and calls for Daniel to interpret that dream. Daniel is very troubled and prays that the curse be on Nebuchadnezzar’s enemies instead. But the dream is about the king losing sight of the fact that God put him in the position he is in, and in fact taking claiming this was by his own efforts:
Belteshazzar (Daniel)* answered and said, “My lord, may the dream be for those who hate you and its interpretation for your enemies! 20 The tree you saw, which grew and became strong, so that its top reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth, 21 whose leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in which was food for all, under which beasts of the field found shade, and in whose branches the birds of the heavens lived—
22 it is you, O king, who have grown and become strong. Your greatness has grown and reaches to heaven, and your dominion to the ends of the earth. 23 And because the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, Chop down the tree and destroy it, but leave the stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field, and let him be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven periods of time pass over him,’
24 this is the interpretation, O king: It is a decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king, 25 that you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. You shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and you shall be wet with the dew of heaven, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.
26 And as it was commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be confirmed for you from the time that you know that Heaven rules. 27 Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you: break off your sins by practicing righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed, that there may perhaps be a lengthening of your prosperity.” – Daniel 4:19-27 ESV
*When the Hebrews were exiled from their homeland, they were given Mesopotamian names in order to assimilate them into the kingdom of Nebuchadnezzar.
This is a stunning mirror of what is happening today. When Donald Trump feels like he can take such a brazen attitude against a sitting Prime Minister, particularly the Prime Minister of Israel, this is truly a sobering place to be in.
Mirroring the End Times
The Bible tells us that in the last days, Israel would stand alone against the entire world. I genuinely hate to think that even the United States would be included in that list, but in many, many ways it has already come to pass. The propaganda spread by the entire world has landed hard in the USA, with many so-called Christians actually turning their backs on the apple of God’s eye.
“Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of staggering to all the surrounding peoples. The siege of Jerusalem will also be against Judah. 3 On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth will gather against it. – Zechariah 12:2-3 ESV
But the good news is that all this is by God’s design; God said, “I am about to make…”, indicating this is part of his plan. But Israel is not to worry, the Bible says that any nation will only hurt themselves by trying to move Israel: and President Trump isn’t immune to God’s warnings.
