Scientists Confirm Planet is Spinning Faster Than At Any Point In The Last 55 Years
23 August, 2026: It seems the year 2020 brought a multitude of changes to planet earth. Social upheaval, COVID 19, the rise of Socialism, are among the changes we’ve seen since this decade began. Another change that has escaped the public’s attention, is the earth’s rotation. It seems that beginning in the year 2020, the earth’s axis rotation has been speeding up.
Scientists say there are several reasons for this increase in speed. Melting glaciers are redistributing mass. The land is slowly rising after being weighed down by ice. As well as strong seismic activity is moving Earth’s mass closer to its axis. This causes the planet to spin faster now, even with the Moon slowing it down.
While a millisecond sounds harmless on an individual day, scientists and engineers care deeply about these shifts for a few major reasons:
Digital Synchronization: Today’s infrastructure depends on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to keep global systems in sync. Financial networks, telecommunications, power grids, and GPS rely on precise timing. If Earth’s rotation falls too far off from atomic time, it can lead to timing errors in fast digital systems.
The “Negative Leap Second” Dilemma: Because Earth has started spinning faster, our days are fractionally shorter than 24 standard atomic hours. To keep our clocks aligned with the actual planet, timekeepers might eventually have to implement a negative leap second—deleting a single second from our clocks. Because atomic clocks have only ever added leap seconds, subtracting one has never been tested. This could break software, servers, and automated systems worldwide that aren’t programmed to handle a missing second.
The Prediction In the Bible
“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” – Matthew 24:22 KJV
This has been a conundrum among Bible scholars for years. That’s because we are told in no uncertain terms that the great tribulation will be 7 years. In the book of Revelation, there are a trio of passages that break down the time. First of all it mentions the ministry of the Two Witnesses during the first half of the tribulation as 1,260 days. 42 months is mentions also in the book of Revelation as the second half of the tribulation. Also, in Revelation, the second half is written as “A time, times, and a half a time.”
3 I will grant my two witnesses authority to prophesy for 1,260 days, dressed in sackcloth.” – Revelation 11:3 CSB
2 But exclude the courtyard outside the temple. Don’t measure it, because it is given to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months. – Revelation 11:2 CSB
The woman was given two wings of a great eagle, so that she could fly from the serpent’s presence to her place in the wilderness, where she was nourished for a time, times, and half a time. – Revelation 12:14 CSB
Simply put, the Holy Spirit has taken great pains to explain to us that the tribulation period will be 7 years long. Now, For some reason, Christians love to argue over anything, even the length of the tribulation. Some claim the tribulation is only 3 1/2 years long. And they can make the point that in the book of Revelation, the Great Tribulation is referenced as being 3 1/2 years long.
But from the rise of the Antichrist to the actual return of Jesus to the earth to set up his kingdom will be a 7 year period of time, commonly called Daniel’s 70th Week.
But at the same time, Jesus claims the days will be shortened. Could this be what Jesus is referring to? Could this speeding up of the earth’s rotation cause some sort of problems at some time in the future that will curtail future technology? And could this result in the saving of the world?
We don’t know all just yet; but we know that every day, God’s word is coming true right in front of our eyes. And as Bible prophecy continues to unfold, we can look forward to this mystery unraveling right in front of us!
