The Words Many People Need to Hear
6 October 2026: Let’s see if I can read your mind: You are feeling like the world has gone crazy, and someone forgot to tell you about. Why is it that the news media can describe tragedy after tragedy, then turn right around and tell you the weekend is going to be spectacular? You are not alone. Many, many people are going to the grocery stores and experiencing the type of sticker shock that was once reserved for cars.
Then we look into the current events, our next mistake. We see governments failing in other parts of the world, riots and destruction. We see sickness, disease, and even the word ‘plague‘ is in the headlines. Yet we’re expected to act as if the world is completely normal, and that by tomorrow, this will all be gone.
Nothing Is as It Seems
What if I were to tell you that in the midst of all this world turmoil, that there is good news, and plenty of it? Would you like to hear about it? The truth of the matter is that nothing is as it seems. Just as a woman experiences labor pains that lead to something good, so is the present age. The things we are enduring now is leading to a great time in the near future. Jesus himself describes this to us in the Bible:
Truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy. 21 When a woman is in labor, she has pain because her time has come. But when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the suffering because of the joy that a person has been born into the world. 22 So you also have sorrow now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy from you. – John 16:20-22 CSB
Here Jesus is talking to his disciples about what is about to take place. Jesus is telling them that he is about to be crucified. The world will rejoice and celebrate, and his disciples will mourn. But the day is coming that you will rejoice and celebrate, and no one will be able to take that joy away from them. But Jesus uses the same type of metaphor in the book of Matthew:
7 For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these events are the beginning of labor pains. – Matthew 24:7-8 CSB
So, we can take the very same attitude toward these times in which we live. Today, there is sorrow, there is pain. But very soon our sorrow will be turn into joy and celebration, and no one will be able to take that away from us. For those who have read my blog before, you may have thought this blog is very depressing. But I am not bringing you bad news! I am bringing you good news, the best news of all! The word Gospel means Good News; and that is this current time in which we live are road signs.
Imagine the scenario: You’re driving down the road. When you started, there were no clouds in the sky. It was a beautiful day; but as you drove the sky turned darker and darker. You started to see lightning in the distance, the wind began to blow, and now you’re in an all-out downpour. Your wipers are up to the highest speed but still you struggle to see where you’re going. But suddenly you see a sign, “Destination Ahead 5mi.” Suddenly your worry and your fears turn to joy because your destination is getting close. That is where we are right now!
WE are living in the cusp of a whole new life. A place where justice will reign supreme. A place where all diseases will be cured, and there will be no war. We will cease from our hard labor and instead live a life of worship and praise to God, because every single need will be meant. You will not worry about grocery prices any longer. You will not fret over unpaid bills or worry about what you’re going to wear. Just like a woman in labor, right now we’re experiencing the birth pain of the return of Jesus. The things that are going on in the world right now are meant to let us know and prepare for His return. These are the signs that say, “Destination Ahead 5mi.”
So let me challenge you right now: Learn to trust God to take care of you through these times and allow yourself the truly thrilling experiencing of watching how the Bible has predicted the end from the beginning: See, we are living on the very edge of time. From this point, we can open the Bible and go through the prophecies, see how they have come to pass exactly, to the very word, as they were predicted. See how Israel became a nation again, in one day, just as the Bible literally predicted.
8 Who has heard of such a thing?
Who has seen such things?
Can a land be born in one day
or a nation be delivered in an instant?
Yet as soon as Zion was in labor,
she gave birth to her sons. – Isaiah 66:8 CSB
In 1948, in a single day, May 14, 1948 at 4:00 PM local time Tel Aviv, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, publicly declared the establishment of the State of Israel.
This is only the first of many, many Bible prophecies that have come to pass. These are things that we can explore through the power of the Internet, and literally witness Bible prophecy being fulfilled.
And remember these times in which we live can be stressful, they can be worrisome. If that is, you don’t have trust in the author of the Bible, God Almighty. But for those who trust in him, we can view these days will excitement and wonder.
