The Missile is Claimed to be Unlike any Other Weapon in the World
As incredible as it may sound, President Vladimir Putin has just revealed its newest nuclear missile. Its official name is 9M739 Burevestnik, known by NATO as SSC-X-9 Skyfall. The nickname “Flying Chernobyl” was coined by Russian General Valery Gerasimov during a briefing, referencing the catastrophic 1986 nuclear disaster to underscore the missile’s radioactive propulsion system.
Key Details:
- Nuclear-powered propulsion: Unlike conventional missiles, this one uses a mini nuclear reactor, allowing it to fly for 15 hours and cover 8,700 miles during tests.
- Undetectable flight path: It’s designed to fly low and erratically, making it difficult for missile defense systems to track or intercept.
- Unlimited range: Theoretically, it could circle the globe multiple times before striking a target.
- Strategic concerns: Experts warn it could destabilize arms control efforts and poses serious environmental risks due to potential radiation leaks.
Putin called it “a unique product that no one in the world has” and emphasized its readiness for deployment. Some Western analysts, however, question its practicality and safety, calling it more of a political statement than a battlefield necessity.
The Bible’s Reference to Chernobyl
Chernobyl and Wormwood are often linked because the name “Chernobyl” comes from the Ukrainian word chornobyl’, which refers to a plant in the Artemisia genus—specifically Artemisia vulgaris, commonly known as mugwort. Wormwood, on the other hand, typically refers to Artemisia absinthium, a related but distinct species.
The word “Chernobyl” does not literally mean “wormwood” in English, but it does refer to a related plant, mugwort, and the connection between Chernobyl and wormwood is largely based on symbolic and cultural association, not direct translation.
Of course, the book of Revelation was written around 96 A.D, before the scientific names for plants had been established. In a very real sense of the word, Chernobyl is the Russian equivalent of Wormwood.
Jack Van Impe was the first to bring this revelation to light back in the 1980’s shortly after the incident in Chernobyl. Jack Van Impe (1931–2020) was a well-known American televangelist and Bible prophecy teacher, often called the “Walking Bible” because he memorized much of the King James Version. For over 70 years, he preached about biblical prophecy and end-times events, famously interpreting current news through the lens of scripture on his worldwide TV show “Jack Van Impe Presents,” co-hosted with his wife Rexella.
His ministry began in the 1950s with evangelism and collaborations with Billy Graham before launching Jack Van Impe Ministries. Van Impe was a dispensational premillennialist; he taught a pre-tribulation rapture, a coming world government, and the fulfillment of Revelation and Daniel’s prophecies, often linking geopolitical events—especially those involving Russia and Israel—to biblical predictions.
He was influential in popularizing Christian eschatology, writing books and producing media about Bible prophecy and calling millions to faith in Christ. Dr. Van Impe passed away in 2020, but his broadcasts and teachings remain available, and his ministry continues under Rexella Van Impe.
The book of Revelation is unfolding like never before! This cannot be overstated. What was at one time considered nothing more than a book of symbology and poetry, is now coming literally true more and more with every passing day.
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; 11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. – Revelation 8:10-11 KJV
This takes place during the seven trumpets. The third angel sounds his trumpet, and a star falls from heaven. Now we must remember this: John is seeing a vision. He is not receiving any type of written script or being told what is coming upon the world in the last days. He sees a bright, fiery object falling from the sky down to earth. Notice again what the strategic concerns were: “Experts warn it could destabilize arms control efforts and poses serious environmental risks due to potential radiation leaks.“
It is very curious that John says, “the third part of the waters became wormwood”. Before now, this would confuse many scholars, because the implication is that the water seemingly transformed itself to wormwood, not became contaminated. But when you consider that wormwood is actually a man-made object that contains deadly radiation it fits absolutely perfectly. It is as if the book of Revelation is telling us that “the waters became radioactive”.
John sees this object fall from the sky and as its falling, it’s poisoning the waters. And many people die because of this object poisoning the waters as it fell. I’m not trying to insult Russians or trying to make a square peg into a round hole. But Russia has long been known for its lack of safety awareness, especially when it comes to nuclear material and weapons. Chernobyl itself was a lack of awareness of the condition of the reactor when attempting to perform a test and further complicated by the fact that there was no type of outer containment protection in case of a breach.
It would not be hard to imagine in the least that Russia would use this missile, either in an actual attack or in just some sort of display of strength test firing. And suddenly, this symbolic poetry has literally come to pass.
Revelation’s Alignment and The End Times
In just the last two years, I have noticed a very disturbing trend, where suddenly world events are lining up just right in order to make the book of Revelation come to pass and come to pass literally. I have written an article on the sixth seal and its curious parallels with the heightened activity in the Pacific Rim. You can read this article by clicking the link below:
Revelation’s Sixth Seal and The Ring of Fire – Echoes and Origins
It is nothing short of amazing to me that for centuries, the book of Revelation was summarily dismissed as nothing more than cryptic poetry, that meant nothing to the people of our time. To this day, many churches ignore the book of Revelation; declaring to their parishioners that it’s meaningless or will only be explained after the occurrences take place. Not true! At this moment, God is unveiling the book of Revelation to us. We can read and comprehend it for ourselves. Anyone claiming that the book of Revelation isn’t meant to be understood is trying to mislead you.
The very last of the last days are upon us. Get your heart right with God while there is still time.
