Understanding the Link Between Trans and Violence
For most of us, the word trans brings up, quite honestly, some humorous images. Males dressed up in outlandish clothes and makeup, displaying their personal choices in the loudest possible way. Or we think of women with short, “butch” haircuts, wearing male clothing and using wallets instead of carrying a purse.
Now, this may rub Christians the wrong way, but it’s important to set out the truth. And the truth is that people have a right, a God given right, to behave in any way they want. This does not exclude them from judgement, but this is a right for every person. People are allowed to choose whether they want to follow God or not.
There are some people who have decided to take this life and live it in any way they choose. God does not force people to follow him. He may not agree with their choices, but he will not intervene their decision to choose. And, it is important to add, this does not exclude them from judgement due to their behavior.
A disturbing trend in America is the incidents of violence committed by these ‘trans’ individuals. Now, I don’t pretend to understand why each individual decides to do these things. The Bible directly explains the root of this violent mindset and what drives these outbursts. According to the Bible, there are a group of people in the world whose minds are bent (the Bible uses the word reprobate) towards violence and evil.
It is very important in this examination, to be completely fair. To assume that just because a person is trans automatically means they’re going to turn violent is not only inaccurate, it’s just morally wrong. It is imperative to keep in mind that these people are loved by God as much as any Christian. It is our duty to remember that we were sinners just like they at one time.
The Bible points out that in God’s eyes sin is sin. There are many, many trans individuals out there who just want to live their lives. Without the hatred and shame that some groups attempt to force on them. In God’s eyes, a person who commits adultery is on the same level as a murderer:
11 For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. – James 2:11 NIV
I have often thought about a stark contrast. Jesus’ words and actions directly oppose how many modern Christians behave. Jesus faced frequent criticism for the company he kept. More than once, he went out of his way to talk to societal outcasts. He spent time with tax collectors, sinners, and Samaritans. If Jesus walked our streets today, I suspect he would do the exact same thing. He would be talking to gay individuals, trans people, drug addicts, and sinners.
Incidents of Violence
The latest incidents of violence committed by these ‘trans’ individuals is the mass shooting at the ice hockey rink in Rhode Island. In this heinous act, Robert Dorgan went by the female persona Roberto Esposito. Shockingly, just days before this incident, Dorgan posted a revealing reply to actor Kevin Sorbo. Sorbo had pointed out (correctly) that a member of Congress who is a trans individual was in fact a man. Dorgan apparently thought that stating the truth was some form of harassment. In a Tweet on X (formerly Twitter), he said the following:
keep bashing us. but do not wonder why we Go BERSERK – Roberta Dorgano
I would like to point out the obvious: Stating the truth is hardly ‘bashing’ someone. It is not my intention to speak ill of the dead. But, where does it say that because a person dies, we have to invent nice things to say about them? If any person, wants to pose as a member of the opposite sex they have the freedom from God to do so. And as long as they are not hurting anyone else, I have no reason nor the authority to stop them.
But the bottom line is a trans person is indulging in a fantasy. They are fantasizing to be something they’re not. And when I am asked to take part in their fantasy, I refuse to do that. Whether through the incorrect use of pronouns, or lying about a person’s gender. You’re asking me to indulge in your fantasy.
The Bible’s Warning About Ignoring God
According to the Bible, there is a reason for this behavior we now see among trans, homosexuals, atheists, and those who refuse to come to the knowledge of God. It is important to understand that this is not God who is punishing people or judging people. God has promised to refrain from judging anyone until the day of judgement he set forth for the end of days. This is a natural progression that happens when a person is confronted by God, yet refuses to acknowledge him.
So let’s take a plain, honest look at what the Bible says about this subject. Today we will take a walk through the passage of Romans 1:18 – 32, and study exactly what the Bible says. I will begin using the English Standard Version (ESV), a very understandable word-for-word translation Bible, and the New International Version (NIV), a very easy to understand thought-for-thought translation:
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. – Romans 1:18-20 ESV
Here we see a basic truth. Atheists will be without excuse on judgement day, for God has made himself visible us. Through his amazing creation, God’s existence has been made overwhelmingly true. And this is proved even today. As much as scientists try to confuse the issue, there is something known as the ‘anthropic principle’. Everywhere we see, the planet and the solar system, even the entire universe has been designed with the idea of creating an environment for a planet hospitable for a living being, and that being humans.
So no, there is no excuse for any of us. God is trying to reach each and every one of us. Whenever you marvel at the beauty of a sunset, when you notice squirrels playing together in a park. Every wonderous piece of God’s creation was designed to get our attention.
21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. – Romans 1:21-23 ESV
However, people willingly turn their back on the obvious knowledge of God. As a result of this, their hearts become darkened. In order to reconcile what they are seeing with their eyes they come up with futile ideas to explain the universe. As their theories become more and more elaborate, claiming to be wise, they are actually exposing their foolishness. They give supernatural powers to the most ordinary of things. Time, Mother Nature, Mother Earth, eagles, wolves, and various ‘spirit’ creatures, worshipping them instead of God.
24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. – Romans 1:24-25 ESV
God had no choice but to allow them to pursue their passions and surrendered them to the passions of their flesh. They first became impure through the lusts of their hearts, and surrendered to the yearnings; having sex without a lasting relationship or commitment. They became so enamored with each other’s bodies, they were infatuated with one another. As a result, they began to lust for even the sight of a beautiful nude form.
26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. Romans – 1:26-27 ESV
As this descended into unbridled passion, they became bored with simply having sex, and started looking for other ways to peak their desires. First, the women turned away from men and began engaging their passions toward one another. Having relations with each other, and doing things that nature never intended women to do with one another.
And the men followed soon afterwards, turning their lust toward one another, doing things the human body was never created to do. Men did shameful things; as a result they actually suffered pain, and injured one another, which was what they deserved for doing these things in the first place.
28Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice.
They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. – Romans 1:28-32 NIV
At this point, they forgot about God; and God has no choice but to put them out of his mind, and turn them completely over to a depraved mindset. They engaged in every evil imaginable, hating anything that represents good, decent, and moral. They enjoyed lawlessness and embraced rebellion. There was nothing they considered sacred, even to the point of disrespecting their own parents.
Greed was a way of life, whether is was a greed for wealth, lusts, power or fame. Murder became an acceptable way of expressing their disdain and hatred for anything that opposed them. And worst of all, they knew people who do these things deserve to die for what they have done, but they do them anyway, and even openly promote and encourage others to do them as well.
In Conclusion
It is a very dangerous slope for people who get on this path. And as we can see, it all starts from refusing to come to the knowledge of God. Your reason for being is clear; you are being given a chance to become a member of God’s family: that is the entire reason you are on this planet. Your purpose is individual to you: My purpose is different from yours, however the reason we are here in the first place is the same.
We have our own free will; we can make our own decisions, but it is important to understand that we will experience the consequence of those decisions. Whether good or bad. A drunk driver barrels down a road and hits another car that results in the death of one or more people. Not because God likes seeing people kill one another, but because the drunk driver made a bad choice: Not a mistake: a bad choice. A mistake is missing an exit on the freeway: a bad choice is a decision we make.
Now here you are: You have just finished reading this: Where do you stand? Are you finally willing to submit to the thing you know in your heart, or are you going to let the doubts and questions float around in your head keep you from doing what you know is right? Getting saved is incredibly easy. You don’t need a church, an altar, or a long ‘repeat after me’ prayer. You are going to spend eternity somewhere, this is without a single doubt the most important thing in your life that you will ever do; or not do.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. – Romans 10:9-10 NIV
