Is Transgenderism A Cult?

Exploring The Ideology of Transgender People

During the Erin Molan show, Ms. Molan referred to the ‘transgender cult’; this got me to thinking. Strictly speaking, is Transgenderism a cult? Now, whether or not it is a cult there are some basic things that no rational person can dismiss: The Transgender community has some very radical and disturbing ideas about life in America.

And there can be no doubt as the rate of violence attributed to transgender adults continues to climb, at some point there is going to have be a conversation about what is transgenderism. Is it a cult? Or something even more serious.

The “Qualifications” of a Cult

In order for any group to be deemed a cult, there has to be a certain criteria that is met. After all, if there is no standard, any group of people regardless of how benevolent or how violent, can simply deny cult status. So I put together four qualifications, or four markers, of what makes up a cult:

The Defining Characteristics of a Cult:

A Charismatic Leader or Group of Leaders: One of the surest hallmarks of a cult is a leader. Someone who defines the movement. This can also be a group of people, but whether a single individual or group, this leadership must have absolute authority over the group as a whole. They are allowed to dictate and change policy, they are capable of judging persons or factions within the group, and of course, their word is final authority in any dispute.
Shunning: How are members of the public treated? Are they welcomed into the group? What about people who oppose the group? What in particular is the policy should a group member be pressured by friends and family to leave the group?
Dogma: If there is one thing in particular that is common to every single cult, it is the set of beliefs. Does the transgender community have a certain set of policy standards? Do they insist on a certain, universal set of beliefs? Can individual members have the freedom to disagree with the group and still remain among the ‘faithful’?
Former Members: Again, one of the hallmarks of a cult is how former members are treated? Are they, as Christians often do, mourn the loss of church member and encourage former members to return, or is their approach more heavy-handed? Do former members experience harassment, abuse, or even violence?

And of course there are more identifiers that point to a group experiencing cult behavior, but these four criteria are plenty for today’s study. Before we begin, however, we must define our subject: A transgender is a person who believes gender is fluid. They can literally change their gender as easily as changing their mind. There doesn’t have to be any physical change: In fact, people can choose to be ‘non-binary’, a phrase describing a condition where they can choose from day to day as to what gender they will be on that particular day.

It is important to note that no physical requirements either needed or necessary in order to be transgender. A biological man, for example, can don a women’s one-piece bathing suit in just as easily slip into a female ‘persona’, and literal change back when the bathing suit comes off.

People who do not identify as transgender themselves can also be part of this community by simply sharing the beliefs of the community. It is literally one of the most dangerous ideas in the history of mankind: “If you believe it, then it’s true”. It is estimated that nearly a million souls pour into hell every day. And a surprisingly large number of them would be considered to be religious. However, they have lost their souls due to being deceived by a “if you believe it, then it’s true” religion.

Criteria #1: A Charismatic Leader or Group of Leaders

There is no “Pope,” “CEO,” or “Prophet” of transgenderism. The community is a global, decentralized social group. While there are prominent figures (such as Laverne Cox, Caitlyn Jenner, or various YouTubers), their “word” is frequently debated, criticized, or ignored by other transgender people. This dissociation of a unified leader has been a both a blessing and a curse to the transgender community.

While it offers great protection from the idea of ‘guilt by association’; this lack of a unified voice has kept their policy ideas restricted to the local and state level, with zero support in the national level. This also hinders their ability to become a voice. Again in one state or in one city they might have great representation, but in the neighboring city or state, their ideas are openly ridiculed. This is a clear ‘no’; the transgender community is clearly lacking the charismatic leadership required to be considered a cult.

Criteria #2: Shunning

This is an area where the transgender community has made some very definite inroads to becoming a cult. While members aren’t encouraged to shun family members, friends and others who might try to remove them from the community, their point of view comes from a ‘self-protection’ ideal:

Many transgender individuals face high rates of family rejection or verbal abuse. They are often encouraged by peers or therapists to set “hard boundaries” or go “No Contact” with anyone who refuses to use their new name/pronouns or who actively opposes their transition. This is framed as self-preservation and protecting one’s mental health.

While on the surface this may seem as nothing more than the preservation of a member’s well-being and mental health, in reality this is a point of contention, especially among minors. This is the very argument that many parents have. Children are told to keep secrets from parents, not to ‘open up’. This leads to a invisible boundary between the children and the parent. Children then begin to make decisions for themselves, despite their obvious immaturity to make such decisions.

As I myself have pointed out from time to time. trans kids are not allowed to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or engage in sexual activity, but they are allowed to make choices about their bodies that will affect them for the rest of their lives concerning puberty and the prescribing of certain drugs without the parents knowledge. This is a very dangerous precedent; and definitely is a sign of cult-like behavior.

Criteria #3: Dogma

Does the transgender community have a universal set of beliefs and ideas? Do transgender people keep certain beliefs as universal to the group’s core beliefs?

The following principles are generally considered the “core beliefs” of the movement. In many activist and academic spaces, these are treated as axioms rather than theories:

Gender Identity as the “True Self”: The belief that everyone has an internal, innate “gender identity” that is separate from their physical body. This internal sense is considered the person’s “authentic” self, while the physical body is often described as “assigned” or even “incorrect.”
Trans Women are Women / Trans Men are Men: This is the central mantra of the movement. It is not intended as a metaphorical statement but as a literal, ontological fact. To suggest there is a meaningful distinction between a “trans woman” and a “biological woman” is often treated as a violation of this core tenet.
The Subjectivity of Biological Sex: A more recent core belief is that biological sex itself is a “social construct” or a “spectrum” rather than a binary reality. This belief allows for the reclassification of sex-based categories (like “female”) to include anyone who identifies with them.
Affirmation as the Only Moral Response: The “Affirmation Model” holds that the only ethical way to treat someone (especially a child) who expresses gender distress is to immediately validate their self-identification. Any attempt to investigate underlying trauma, co-occurring mental health issues, or to suggest “watchful waiting” is often labeled as “conversion therapy.”

Dogma and the Lack of Variance

This is where the “cult-like” label is most frequently applied by critics. While there is a massive amount of internal disagreement among academics, in the public and political sphere, the movement often enforces a very rigid “all or nothing” platform:

The Shibboleth of Language: Pronouns and specialized terminology (like “cisgender,” “chestfeeding,” or “people with uteruses”) act as tests of loyalty. Refusing to use this language is often interpreted not as a difference of opinion, but as an act of “violence” or “erasure.”
The “Heresy” of Internal Critics: As mentioned before, transgender people who disagree with the mainstream platform (such as those who believe biology still matters or that children shouldn’t transition) are often treated more harshly than outsiders. They are frequently labeled “traitors” and are effectively “excommunicated” from the community’s social and digital spaces.

The Internal Contradiction (The “Mystery”)

Interestingly, the movement’s “dogma” contains a major internal contradiction that members are expected to hold simultaneously—a phenomenon sometimes compared to the “doublethink” described in sociology:

Narrative A: “I was born this way; it is an innate, biological brain-map.” (Essentialism)
Narrative B: “Gender is a social construct created by patriarchal power structures.” (Post-modernism)

Logically, these two cannot both be true (gender cannot be both an innate biological essence and an arbitrary social invention). However, within the movement, both are used depending on which serves the immediate political or social argument. Questioning this contradiction is usually met with social hostility.

There is no doubt whatsoever that this is the strongest evidence of cult-like behavior: A set of shared, non-negotiable, rigid beliefs even in the face of provable science.

Criteria #4: Former Members

When investigating the treatment of “former trans people”—most commonly known as detransitioners—there is a clear pattern of social and verbal friction that critics often point to as evidence of cult-like behavior.

1. Labels and Monikers

The terminology used to describe this group is often a battleground in itself. Depending on who is speaking, the labels change significantly:

Desister	Clinical/Older	Usually refers to children or teens who stopped identifying as trans before medical intervention.
TERF	Activist Slur	Short for “Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist.” Frequently used as a label for detransitioners who speak out against gender-affirming care.
Grifter	Activist Slur	A common accusation that a detransitioner is “faking” their regret or story for money from conservative donors.
Traitor	Social Slur	Used within the community to suggest the person has betrayed the “trans cause.”

2. Harsh Treatment and Social Ostracism

While not all trans people treat detransitioners harshly, those who become vocal critics of the medical system often face severe social consequences that mirror the “shunning” you mentioned:

“Social Exile”: Many detransitioners report that their entire social circle vanished the moment they stopped identifying as trans. Because their lives were often centered around the community, this leaves them isolated.
De-platforming: If a detransitioners shares a story of regret on social media (like TikTok or Reddit), they are frequently banned from trans-specific “safe spaces” or support groups, even if they still have gender dysphoria.
Character Assassination: High-profile detransitioners like Chloe Cole or Prisha Mosley are often accused of being “mentally unstable” or “brainwashed by the far-right” to invalidate their personal experiences.

3. Instances of Violence and Intimidation

There have been documented instances of physical violence and aggressive intimidation, usually occurring at protests where detransitioners or “gender-critical” women speak:

Physical Assaults: In one high-profile case in London, a trans activist named Tara Wolf was convicted of assaulting a 60-year-old woman, Maria MacLachlan, at a meeting regarding gender laws. In 2023, another activist in Aberdeen was cautioned for punching a 54-year-old woman at a similar rally.
Incitement to Violence: During a 2023 “Trans Pride” event, a prominent trans activist named Sarah Jane Baker was filmed telling a crowd, “If you see a TERF, punch them in the f***ing face.” While Baker was later arrested, the sentiment highlighted the vitriol directed at those who dissent.
Intimidation Tactics: Rallies featuring detransitioners are frequently met with counter-protesters using “noise-making” (bullhorns and sirens) to drown out their stories, or “smoke bombs” and physical blockades to prevent people from attending.

The Internal Dilemma

The “cult-like” aspect often comes from the refusal to acknowledge regret. Within the more radical wings of the movement, detransition is sometimes treated as a “heresy” that threatens the legitimacy of the entire identity. By labeling detransitioners as “enemies” or “grifters,” the group protects its core narrative from being questioned by those with firsthand experience of its failures.

In Conclusion:

In my personal opinion, the transgender movement is a new, radical, dangerous philosophy, in which we can be thankful that the ideology is so unorthodox, so quite frankly nonsensical, that is almost assuredly going to go the way of the braless movement of the 70’s. However, the increasing tendency toward violence in these individual and groups makes them far more dangerous than young women who burned their bras on college campuses.

And if you think this is good news, think again. The only thing, in my opinion that the transgender movement lacks is leadership. Should someone in the near future step forward that can be a voice to the members as well as a calming influence to the public. this would breathe life into this movement and make it even considerably more dangerous. This group, having already shown a propensity toward violence and murder, could easily morph into a genuine cult, but could just as easily go straight into the classification of domestic terrorism.

That is not a fear mongering statement: the murder of Charlie Kirk was allegedly brought about by Tyler James Robinson, a 22‑year‑old from Washington, Utah who was, according to reports, in a transgender relationship with another biological male who among other fantasies, often identified himself as a ‘furry’. This is the name for people who dress up in one piece animal costumes and pretend to actually be the animal.

Robert Dorgan (who also went by Roberta and used the surname Esposito/Dorgan), the person who opened fire at the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, killing family members during a high school hockey game in February 2026. He then turned the gun upon himself. Just days before, he posted a chilling comment on social media in response to actor Kevin Sorbo, who stated that trans Rep. Sarah McBride is a man. In that reply Dorgan wrote:

“keep bashing us. but do not wonder why we Go BERSERK”

This unhinged, ‘loose canon’ mentality is exactly the type of activity that makes this transgenderism such a disturbing group. All they lack is leadership. These are only a small sample of the outbreak of violence among this group. The Bible tells us exactly the source of this violence and hatred. Transition to Terror

The Bible Has Predicted the Rise of Transgenders

As I have made the comparison many times before, the book of Romans gives us step-by-step predictions on these transgender people. Unfortunately, the Bible is 100% right about the outcome and in these last days, the Bible is unfolding like never before. This passage is lengthy, but it gives us a step-by-step progression of how these transgenders have developed:

¹⁸ But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. ¹⁹ They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. ²⁰ For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
²¹ Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. ²² Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. ²³ And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
²⁴ So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. ²⁵ They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. ²⁶ That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. ²⁷ And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.
²⁸ Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. ²⁹ Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. ³⁰ They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. ³¹ They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. ³² They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. – Romans 1:18-32 NLT

Echoes and Origins
