A Believer of Christ in The Modern World
Today, I don’t have a subject to write about, instead I have something to share. Many times, I get to express my opinions and feelings on this blog. I’m angry, I’m frustrated, I’m in awe, dumbfounded, resigned, incredulous and protective. But rarely do I just talk about my feelings.
It honestly feels like I’ve walked through a portal; just 7 years ago (talk about a coincidence) the world was a much different, and much better place. People were different, places and times were different. It was a world where it was ok to help a stranger stranded beside the road. It was a time when for some reason, the world was different.
Then COVID-19 came along. Suddenly, we were in this new era of masks, social distancing, enforced limitations on the number of people who can enter a building. I witnessed lines of people standing outside of stores because in this area stores were given a ‘safe’ number of people to allow inside at one time. We were waiting for this miracle vaccine that never came. I myself was affected in several ways, including the loss of some dear friends who succumbed to COVID.
We were frightened for our lives: Never before in my life have I ever witnessed such a strange, selective disease. Some people became infected and showed no symptoms whatsoever. They would simply test positive, otherwise, they were completely healthy. Others died. And it seemed to strike without rhyme or reason. While generally, the older a person was, statistically the worse COVID could be, but that was no guarantee a younger person would survive.
I heard stories of COVID wiping out entire families; bodies being stored in refrigerated tractor trailers because the morgues were full. Hospitals full to capacity: Turning waiting rooms into wards, even lining up beds in the hallways.
I give glory to God and God alone: Twice I had COVID; the first time, it felt like a cold, and the very next day, I felt completely fine. I would have likened to a 24 hour virus. The second time was even milder, akin to springtime allergies. But to think that people I have known since I was a child and people much younger than me simply did not survive.
The Post COVID-19 World
And somehow, we never recovered: Oh, yes the world is free from COVID restrictions, no one wears a mask any longer, people are back to work and businesses are back open. But in a real way, the world was changed; never again to be the same. I am not making a joke: There are times when I wonder if COVID affected us in some psychological way that we have yet to realize. We somehow lost a conscience.
That is not an exaggeration, nor is it hyperbole. I honestly sometimes wonder if post COVID-19 world suffers from a lost conscience. We became hardened: we lost our compassion, we lost that part of our minds that tell us right from wrong. I sometimes wonder if there is a pattern among COVID victims.
Beginning around 2022, I started seeing a new trend; intolerance, especially among those who had little or no Christian background. These people stopped asking for recognition, and started demanding it. Those who actually became the very thing they once stood against: Intolerant people who had no compassion for anyone other than themselves and the people they shared a common ideological companionship with.
I started seeing street preachers physically attacked, verbally abused. Not simply ignored as in days past. But now they were being confronted: now they were being targeted. Likewise cities in America and nations around the world began passing laws prohibiting the free exercise, not of religion, but of Christianity in particular. Islam was given a free pass. The religion that spurred 9/11, The Munich Massacre, October 7th and many other heinous terrorism events were embraced.
And for this, there was only one conclusion. Jesus himself said,
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. – John 15:18-20 NIV
Let’s just take a moment and realize the truth: This world is evil. There is nothing in this world that is good, and just and compassionate. This world is evil. And guess which religion is embraced, and which is hated. “If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own”
Antisemitism: The Hallmark of Hatred
One single thing is the true mark of someone whose mind has been poisoned by the evil called hatred. It is not just a feeling, or an emotion; hatred is a spirit. Once it invades a person, it spreads into every area of their lives. That’s why you see politicians and even members of Congress behave in such disturbing and embarrassing ways. Hatred has taken over their being to where they just don’t disagree with the Republican party, they hate Republicans.
Nothing proves the existence of the God of the Bible like the Jewish people. Their existence alone is enough to prove God’s word is true. However, God’s words does something no other book in the world can claim. God’s word writes history in advance. And that fact was what I chose as the slogan for my website: “Today’s News Headlines Were Written In Advance.”
The history of the Jewish people was written around 3,000 years ago or more. It’s not my intention to give examples of that here, but I have written several articles on Antisemitism. But the one story that stood out to me the most was Actress Mayim Bialik Claims College Students Chanted “We Want a Jewish Genocide”
Mayim Bialik is an American actress, neuroscientist, author, and former game show host who gained fame for starring as Blossom Russo in the NBC sitcom “Blossom” (1991–1995) and as Amy Farrah Fowler in the CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” (2010–2019), where she played a neuroscientist and received multiple Emmy nominations for her performance. She has also hosted “Jeopardy!” and is known for her advocacy, authorship, and contributions to science communication and mental health awareness.
She gave an interview on her view of what its like to be a Jewish person living in America. She claims that during a protest held at her Alma Mater, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) students gathered in the quad in front of the Royce Hall and repeatedly chanted “We want a Jewish genocide!”. A quad (short for quadrangle) is an open, often grassy, rectangular or square area surrounded by buildings on a college or university campus.
The one thing that I have noticed on this claim, is the lack of video evidence! Are we to believe that no one, not one single student decided to pull out a phone and record the demonstration? The media and its blind bias will say ‘there’s no video evidence confirming that is what the students chanted. I will say, where is the evidence disproving it?
The absolute worst President in the history of the United States, Joe Biden couldn’t have hurt this country an harder. He allowed thousand of Palestinian Agent Provocateurs into this country posing as college students. They immediately went to work poisoning the minds of these impressionable college kids, telling them outright lies about how they are being ‘victims of genocide’. Let me take an opportunity to point out a very offensive truth:
“For the last 2,000 years, every generation has had an excuse to hate Jews. Genocide against Palestine is this generation’s excuse, nothing more.”
For these college students, it was an easy jump to antisemitism. As Joseph Goebbels, the Propaganda Minister of the German Nazi Party once said,
“A lie told once remains a lie; a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth”
Eighty years later it remains true; repeat this lie of genocide enough and people believe it. But the only real genocide taking place in the middle east is the terror attacks carried out by Hamas and Hezbollah. Let Hamas carry out an unprovoked attack on innocent Jews, and it’s seen as a ‘necessary event in order to get the world’s attention to the genocide carried out by the Israelis.
Let the Israeli government defend themselves and the legacy media decries the ‘carnage carried out by the Israeli government on a peaceful people’. I have some uncomfortable truth for the world; these are God’s people you’re acting on, and he has promised them wrath on their enemies.
The World Grows Cold
The most incredibly disturbing thing that came out of COVID-19 was the callousness and cold-heartedness that came into the hearts of people. People began cheering when other people died, just because of some meaningless political belief. But they didn’t stop there: the hatred particularly among the liberal community became literally palpable, and has only grown worse.
People began disrespecting the USA, disrespecting the flag. They tried to kill Donald Trump for saying something as pure as “Make America Great Again”. It became a social media game of who could raise more eyebrows, who could be more cold-hearted, more disgusting than the previous post. They openly declared war on anything patriotic, holy, moral, or Christian. They resorted to violence on many occasions simply because the Supreme Court made a decision, or the government refused to recognize a special interest.
And it didn’t stop there. Women began murdering their children; they would birth babies and leave them in trash cans and dumpsters. They became a horror to America! They became the exact opposite of the way God intended women to behave and became a perverted competition to see who could become the most depraved. They completely turned their backs on anything that would be in the least bit holy and good and feminine and did things that people wouldn’t even consider a man to be capable of.
And likewise the men engaged in their own perversions. Fathers that killed their entire families, before turning the gun on themselves. Killing their wives because of their lusts for other women, or even worse other men, abandoning the role God had entrusted them as head and priest of their household. The man God intended to be the protector of the house became the threat. They turned the gift of masculinity into a threat to the community, acting like senseless animals, who kill their own offspring, and wreak havoc everywhere they go.
Even the children were not immune from the prevailing dark cloud of evil that overshadowed the world. Young adults who were so spoiled as children, the idea of restrictions, and the word ‘no’ is a foreign concept to them. They murder their parents who take away cell phones, they attack police who dare attempt to enforce a restriction on them. They throw temper tantrums so absolutely ridiculous that these are often recorded by bystanders who eagerly post them on social media.
And nothing could be so troubling for a parent than to send a child off to college. Our colleges and universities have been taken over by evil professors, who push the idea of socialism and liberalism, often mocking and criticizing any student who may have gone to college as a Christian. They are quickly targeted by teacher and fellow students alike.
I once made a public comment that I personally considered more humorous than anything. However, the backlash was so toxic that I immediately knew I had struck a chord of truth more accurately than even I realized:
“As a parent, you scrimp and save, shopping at Goodwill and buying Great Value brands in order to start saving money for your kids for college. You raise your child in the best way possible, making them a grounded, well adjusted, well behaved young adult. Four years later, the college sends you back a blue-haired, face pierced, tattooed, antisemitic, liberal, nonconformist who spends the next 20 years living in your basement.”
As I said, this to me was humor; however they complete breakdown of liberals told me this was more true than even I realized.
I Could Go On and On
I don’t have to keep expounded on these things, but the point is clear. This world is no longer the world we lived in even 7 years ago. And I for one am tired of it. I for one am over it. There is nothing on the face of this earth that has any appeal for me whatsoever. I am not phased by the glamour and riches. I’ve had money, and I’ve been broke. Money is better, but neither one contribute to my inner peace and happiness.
We imprison ourselves inside what we call our home. But it’s not a home, it is a very nice, well furnished, loaded with toys, prison cell. We have security cameras, warning signs, security services, dogs and weapons in order to protect ourselves. As I write this there are contractors at work in my yard, installing a chain link fence.
This is rural Kentucky. When I was a child, we moved. We bought a house in Chattaroy, West Virginia. The homeowners didn’t give us a key to the new house, because they didn’t have a key to the house! Because I remember a time when people simply didn’t lock their doors. I remember a time when people left their car keys in the car, so they wouldn’t lose them.
No, this is not the world of 7 years ago, which only illustrates what the Bible says, we are wanderers on this land. Just as the Israelites spent 40 years wandering the deserts of what is now Saudi Arabia, we are just passing through this land on our way home.
I personally feel the concrete is starting to set. People are so entrenched in their views they no longer look for truth, they look for information that already affirms what they want to believe. I will continue to write Echoes and Origins, although there is already enough information right on this site to convince someone not only of the existence of God, but to convince them the last days are winding down to a precious few.
