The Startling Insights to Middle East Events
30 August 2026: We’re almost through with the 8th month of 2026. In some ways, we are living in the most troubling, terrifying, times in world history. And we know from reading the Bible that times aren’t going to get better. But at the same time, we are living in the most unique of times. The Bible seems to be unfolding before our eyes every day, and these are the moments when we can witness it happening.
With that in mind, I’m going to try to take this blog in a new direction. Rather than try to be a reporter, which I’m not, I’m just going to lay out what I see going on in the world. I’m going to show you what I see when I read the news or listen to a news podcast.
The Masks Are Coming Off
Right now, there is a huge staring contest in the Middle East. Turkey, Syria and Israel have locked eyes, and everyone is just waiting to see who will be the first to blink. Israel is accusing Turkey of trying to move weapons and military personnel into Syria. Of course Turkey is going to deny it, I mean what do you expect them to say? “Aww shucks, you caught us! How did you know?”
Because there are secret meetings going on right now with several Middle East countries, and surprise, surprise; those countries line up with Ezekiel 38. The question before them is how to rid the world once and for all of the nation of Israel. Because of this phenomenal surge in antisemitism, Iran believes now is the time to strike Israel. The world has largely remained silent over October 7th.
Turkey has become increasingly radical in the last few months: Under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Turkey has shifted sharply toward Islamist nationalism, authoritarianism, and anti‑Israel rhetoric. Some example of the things he has said include, calls for an “Army of Islam” to confront Israel. Urging Muslims to defend Jerusalem “to the death.”
Donald Trump: Caught Between A Rock And A Hard Place
Because Turkey is a NATO country, they have President Trump right where they want him. If Turkey were to attack Israel, could the USA attack Turkey in order to defend Israel? I say no. There is absolutely no precedence allowing any NATO member to attack another NATO member. Article 5 binds the alliance to mutual defense, meaning a direct military clash between two member states—or a scenario where the U.S. is forced to choose between a key NATO powerhouse like Turkey and its alliance with Israel—creates an unprecedented diplomatic and military deadlock.
The USA would be confined to making a diplomatic response to an attack, or risk upsetting the NATO alliance. The Bible tells us in Ezekiel 38 that when Gog and Magog and it’s hordes do attack Israel, the international response will be one of words, not military might:
13 Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish with all its rulers will ask you, “Have you come to seize spoil? Have you mobilized your assembly to carry off plunder, to make off with silver and gold, to take cattle and possessions, to seize plenty of spoil? ” ’ – Ezekiel 38:13 CSB
The fact that these events are lining up exactly as foretold shouldn’t be a source of amazement to anyone who has decided in these times to pay attention. Just as the 5 wise virgins of Matthew chapter 25, we are staying alert and waiting the call, “Behold the bridegroom comes!”
I have been quite annoyed at our President in recent days. The way he keeps waffling between his attitudes toward Iran. But that has shown a definite weakness in the President: He is unwilling to keep his word when the pressure is applied. And that fits into Bible prophecy to the letter: The President will remain tangled in his quandary, whether to come to Israel’s aid and forsake the NATO alliance, or to abandon the Israelis, and side with NATO. And don’t think his Christian values are going to show him the way. I cannot judge a man’s heart, but I can listen to his rhetoric and his disrespectful comments to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
No Way Out
The Middle East situation is truly a road with no turns. The more Iran is pressured, the more they will believe they have no other choice to save their power over Iran than to show the world just how powerful they can be when pushed too far. Turkey has made a huge power play in the Middle East, trying to exert its dominance in the area. They are not going to stop now, since they are on the edge of Syria and are in a prime position to control the Middle East for years to come. Keep in mind these are Muslims, and this is the game their religion teaches them to play: Gain power, gain control and never give it up.
Israel has become a garden of Eden; and Middle East jealousy runs high. There is a demand Allah places on his followers: Any land once acquired for Allah must remain Allah’s, and if it is lost, it must be retaken. Right now, despite the many sanctions, Israel has more water than it can drink, more money than it can spend, and more food than it can eat. Just as the Bible predicted over 2,500 years ago:
They will say, “This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden. The cities that were once ruined, desolate, and demolished are now fortified and inhabited.” – Ezekiel 36:35 CSB
for water will gush in the wilderness,
and streams in the desert;
7 the parched ground will become a pool,
and the thirsty land, springs. – Isaiah 35:6-7 CSB
13 Look, the days are coming —
this is the LORD’s declaration —
when the plowman will overtake the reaper
and the one who treads grapes,
the sower of seed.
The mountains will drip with sweet wine,
and all the hills will flow with it.
14 I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel.
They will rebuild and occupy ruined cities,
plant vineyards and drink their wine,
make gardens and eat their produce. – Amos 9:13-14 CSB
These are only a few of the Biblical prophecies dealing with the prosperity of Israel in the last days. While Iran is in the worst drought in the last 100 years, while other nations surrounding Israel struggle to get those desert lands to produce even a small harvest. While they struggle with conflict and war, Israel is a nation of celebration. Tel Aviv has a night life that is the Jewel of the Middle East.
Israel’s Current Security Doesn’t Add Up
11 You will say, “I will advance against a land of open villages; I will come against a tranquil people who are living securely, all of them living without walls and without bars or gates” – Ezekiel 38:11 CSB
No, right at this moment, Israel isn’t enjoying this false peace and safety it will believe to have in the moments leading up to this surprise attack. But we’ve seen how quickly these supposed peace agreements are made, and how many that are broken within a matter of a few days. It is important to understand this has nothing to do with rapture events. Ezekiel 38 talks of a time when Turkey, Egypt, and Iran will attack Israel with the intention of wiping it off the face of the earth.
Could this attack happen tomorrow? Probably not. But we are seeing the culmination of these events! It’s as if we are looking into the sky and seeing the storm collect itself. The sun gets blocked and the clouds gather, and the sky grows dark. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that it will soon rain. Just as we can know the weather from looking at the sky, we can know the signs of the end by looking at the times in which we live.
