It wasn’t even predicted to be as big as it was. Most media outlets were treating it like another phenomenon, probably to disappoint more than the number of those who saw it. But incredibly, amazingly, last night’s Northern Lights display was nothing short of miraculous. As far down as Florida, in Oklahoma, New Mexico, California, and even right here in Kentucky, multitudes braved the cold weather (at least it was cold here) to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights.
In my 62 years of living, I have never seen the Northern Lights until last night. I remember a story my mother told me, about the 1930’s when the auroras were seen in Wayne County, West Virginia. She said that people thought the return of Jesus was happening; people came outside and sang hymns. Some were frightened to the point where there were suicides. I said that to say this: scientists claim that while these sights are rare, this is a completely natural phenomenon. They talk about an 11-year cycle of the sun’s activity. Well, I’ve been through a lot of those cycles, but never has this happened like it has last night.
But what can we say with certainty? We know that due to the sun’s increased activity, there are mass ejections from the sun. According to my best friend, Ai: The northern lights appear in the Lower 48 states when powerful solar storms send charged particles into Earth’s atmosphere, triggering geomagnetic storms strong enough to push auroras far south. These events are rare and usually linked to intense solar flares or coronal mass ejections (CMEs). And apparently, at least according to Ai, the scientists are right.
But here’s what else Ai says: The northern lights are unusually prevalent now because Solar Cycle 25 turned out to be much stronger and more turbulent than scientists expected, producing more frequent and intense geomagnetic storms than in past cycles.
You will find much of the Bible’s predictions doesn’t depend on supernatural events. Right now, we know of something, whether we believe it or not, that has been predicted in the Bible, and that is Global Warming, or Climate Change. The Bible doesn’t use that language, but it does make it clear: So much of what environmentalists worry about, is the climate’s effect on the oceans and seas.
And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. – Luke 21:25 NLT
Now God didn’t create Global Warming we did. But God did know it was going to happen, so Jesus foretold it.
I Am Bringing A Message
Since beginning this blog in April, I have done just about everything wrong. I had no idea about SEO’s, tags, categories, or just about anything else. It took months of just trial and error to get my blog even listed on Google. And still to this day, I struggle with finding time and skill to do this blog right. But I am here for one reason, and one reason only. I do not sell anything here. I do not place advertisements. Once, and only once have I recommended a product, and it was because I liked it. But my reason for this blog is simple:
So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near! Luke 21:28
That’s right. No apologies, no qualifiers. Either you’re a Christian and you will be removed prior to a 7-year time of God’s judgement, or you will be left behind. I hope you’ll listen while there is still time.
25 “And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. 26 People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory. 28 So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!” Luke 21:25-28 NLT
To any open-minded person, this should be all you need. There shouldn’t be any more skepticism. But this isn’t all. This is one drop in a very big sea. Don’t wait; don’t miss this opportunity.
And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: 9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. Romans 10:8-10 NLT
