Opinion: Daniel’s Prayer for 2026
Foreward
This article is written as a prayer. We see in Daniel chapter 9 that Daniel realizes that the 70 years of exile predicted by God through the prophet Jeremiah are up. But instead of packing his clothes and setting his affairs in order, he does something very unexpected: He prays. He begins to pray that God forgive his people and heal the land. Exactly what God had already promised to do. With that in mind, this article is written in the form of a prayer.
Part 1: Offering of Praise
Father in heaven, how great are you and the works of your hands. Without beginning or end you are the Infinite, the Holy, and the Just. Let your Name be praised throughout the world. Where there are ears to hear, let your praises be sung! Let your will take place on the earth exactly as your will is performed in Heaven. May even the ground itself obey your call.
Father, as I sit down here to write this article, let this be my prayer to you, Mighty One. Just as Daniel prayed for the restoration of Israel at the end of the Exile to Babylon, I pray to you this day. When Jesus was on this earth, he gave us an order, an order with a promise:
Part 2: Our Foundation: The Word of God
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. – Matthew 24:14 KJV
Father, we have heard and we obeyed. Right now, this gospel of the kingdom has now gone out into all the world, as a witness unto all nations. There is no nation‑state on earth where the name of Jesus is utterly unknown, and in even the most remote and hostile nations there are those who confess Him. Not every village has a Bible or a church, but as nations they have had opportunity—and many have turned away.
Some must worship you in secret, because the very mention of the name of Jesus is enough to get them killed. But even in those nations that suffer such deplorable persecution, people still meet to praise your name. People believe in the name of Jesus. We have given our time and our money, our lives in some cases, but the Gospel of Jesus is known around the world.
Father, like Daniel: Heal our people, Lord, forgive our sins. For we have not done right in your eyes. We haven’t studied your word for ourselves. Many people have allowed themselves to be carried away by false doctrine just as your word says:
3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. – 2 Timothy 4:3-4 NIV
A great number of people have followed these false teachers and false shepherds, using the word of God to fill their greedy desires, and having done so, amassed great wealth. But instead of using their gains to spread your word, they have hoarded it up for this day.
Part 3: The Plea
Father, all over the world Christians are hated just like Jesus told us would happen:
18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also – John 15:18-20 NIV
Everywhere around the world, Lord your people are brought to shame. In some countries, your people are lined up and killed as so much cattle. In other countries, including nations that consider themselves sophisticated, a prayer to you in public is enough to get them thrown in jail. Even here in the USA, we are hated, scorned, and mocked. Our liberties are trampled on, even as they hold up the Constitution that was written to protect us. People lose their jobs over T-shirt with Bible verses on them.
They have lost the right to preach your Gospel in public. And even when they do, they are met with demonic people who attack them verbally and sometimes violently. Right here in the last country that was dedicated to you, the name of Jesus is blasphemed and hated. In several cities, Christians have died for the action of going to church. A demon crazed person enters a church with a gun and randomly shoots your people. It seems no church is safe from persecution in these last days.
Oh God! Redeem us! Come quickly Lord and remove us from this earth. Let us go to be forever with you as you promised in your word:
. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. – Matthew 24:39-42 NIV
Bring us home to be reunited with our loved ones who have passed on before us! Let every blind eye be opened, and every lame person walk! Give us rest as our journey is complete! For we have, Lord did as you obeyed: The Gospel has been taken to the four corners of the world. Remember your promise to us, in Jesus’ Name we pray.

Conclusion
In Matthew 18:19 we read:
That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. – Matthew 18:19 KJV
This is often called the prayer of agreement, because it is one of the most powerful scriptures in the Bible. It is the collection of two or more peoples of faith; and they combine their faith in order to work together to accomplish a purpose. You can agree with this pray yourself by simply praying to the Lord and telling him you agree.
If this article scares you, I know why. Because you are not ready for the return of the Lord! God’s call is sounding in your heart and he wants to bring you out of fear and into a place of safety and solitude. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by! Being saved is incredibly easy, and can be done right now, where ever you are. Jesus came to this earth so you didn’t have to be separated from God. And all that’s left for you to do is accept this truth. The book of Romans can lead you the way:
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. – Romans 10:9-10 NKJV
