Is The President’s Indecisiveness Getting Iranians Killed?

There is one thing you can count on, and that is the Bible to be 100% true. Recent stories in news inform us of two things: Number one, the President is talking with the Islamic Leadership in Iran. Why? We’re not so sure, but another story says there is credible evidence that massive slaughter has taken place and continues even as Trump talks with Iran’s leaders and searches for a headline‑grabbing deal. According to the Jerusalem post, some reports and leaked documents indicate the death toll could exceed 30,000, though verification is difficult under the regime’s information blackout.

According to human‑rights monitors such as Amnesty International and Iran’s Human Rights Monitor both have reported that killings are continuing to this day. National Public Radio (NPR) said just today (Jan. 30) report features women still participating in protests under what it calls a “brutal crackdown” indication that lethal repression is ongoing rather than over.

A detailed January 20 statement from the National Council of Resistance of Iran reports at least 345 executions carried out in just one Persian month (December 22–January 20), explicitly saying executions are continuing in parallel with the massacre of protesters.

A January 27 analysis bluntly states that “Iran’s executions have not stopped,” describing Iranians “dying in their thousands” and noting that judicial killings are ongoing after the January massacres.

Why The President’s Double Talk?

Trump’s own language has focused on stopping killings, crushing Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, and “looking for new leadership in Iran,” which implies he would welcome the regime’s fall but doesn’t admit an explicit regime‑change policy. Senator Lindsey Graham, after being briefed, flatly said “the goal is to end the regime,” indicating at least some in his orbit do see regime change as the objective, even if the White House does not frame it that bluntly in official lines.

Trump has loudly threatened attacks, sent an “armada,” told Iranians “help is on the way,” and then publicly praised Tehran for reportedly canceling executions when it suits his narrative, even as killings continued. Analyses say he is using “gunboat diplomacy”: dial up fear of a strike to force Iran to take his deal on nukes and missiles, which he can then sell as a historic peace breakthrough and personal vindication.

The Nobel Peace Prize Angle: Trump has openly obsessed over the Nobel for years, and recent political coverage notes how he keeps staging dramatic foreign‑policy moments that he and his allies tout as prize‑worthy, even when the humanitarian picture is much darker. Trump has recently said he no longer thinks ‘purely of peace’ after being denied the Nobel.

It is therefore completely reasonable to read this Iran posture as another attempt to pull a “rabbit out of the hat”: squeeze and threaten until he can announce a sweeping deal, claim he stopped a massacre and a war, and then point to that as grounds for a Nobel—despite the blood that was shed while he hesitated.

My Opinion of the Nobel Peace Prize

For years now, the peace prize has become a joke. In 2009, Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for managing to get himself elected. But the real travesty is the fact than in 1994, Yasser Arafat won the Nobel Peace Prize. This is a man who lived his entire life as a terrorist. A man who ordered suicide bombers to attack Israeli School Buses. This is a man who despite his denials was a key member of the Palestine Terrorist organization Black September, a group who attacked the Israeli athletes in the Munich Olympics in 1972. This event became known as the Munich Massacre.

Despite that atrocities committed by this man, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I know I have no chance at all to ever win the Nobel Prize. But I would refuse the prize and the prize money. Why Trump is so obsessed with this prize is beyond me.

Which All Leads Back to the Bible: Ezekiel 38

Many, many people are now pointing to Ezekiel 38’s prophecy as showing strong possibility of coming to pass. If you’re a regular viewer of Echoes and Origins, you know that weeks ago, I began calling attention to Ezekiel 38 as a strong possibility, especially if Donald Trump doesn’t go into Iran with decisive action. Now that the prophecy is becoming clearer, many others content creators are now bringing up the idea that this could turn sour very quickly. In fact just in the last few days, I have seen an even stronger indication that Turkey, not Russia could be the Gog and Magog to the north.

In my last article I raised the question of why many Bible scholars and teachers (including myself) have so long pointed to Russia instead of the obvious choice, Turkey. I believe it all came down to the enemy to the north following World War II, Russia. At that time the cold war was just heating up, and it was assumed that eventually there would be war between the United States and the Soviet Union. So, in 1948, when Israel became a nation according to Bible prophecy, it was easy for people to start taking a look at Ezekiel and draw a line north to Russia, in fact a literal line barely misses Moscow.

And at that time, Turkey was very much a friend to the west, enjoying a robust tourism industry to westerners who loved the culture of what at that time seemed the  idyllic balance of Islam and western values. However, the European Union was not kind to Turkey, and constantly rejected their bid for EU membership, until eventually Turkey gave up and embraced the Islam nations who were more than happy to welcome their prodigal sons. However, some still argue for a Russian emphasis, despite the Turkey focus making much more sense and directly tying into the current narrative of these day in which we live

So a simple adjustment to the question of who Gog and Magog might be, and suddenly, the question of Ezekiel 38 just becomes a whole lot clearer. But before we go any further, let’s look at Ezekiel 38 for ourselves.

1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him 3 and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. 4 And I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great host, all of them with buckler and shield, wielding swords. 5Persia, Cush, and Put are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 Gomer and all his hordes; Beth-togarmah from the uttermost parts of the north with all his hordes—many peoples are with you.
7 “Be ready and keep ready, you and all your hosts that are assembled about you, and be a guard for them. 8 After many days you will be mustered. In the latter years you will go against the land that is restored from war, the land whose people were gathered from many peoples upon the mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and now dwell securely, all of them. 9 You will advance, coming on like a storm. You will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your hordes, and many peoples with you. – Ezekiel 38:1-9 KJV

Modern Matchups to the Ancient Lands

  • Meshech and Tubal: Most modern evangelical and academic work places Meshech and Tubal in what is now Turkey, in the Anatolian/Asia Minor region, with a minority view tying them toward Russia.
  • Persia: Modern day Iran.
  • Cush and Put: In most modern identifications, Cush is the Nile‑valley south of Egypt (mainly Sudan, with some extension toward Ethiopia), and Put is Libya and adjacent North Africa west of Egypt.
  • Gomer: Generally identified with the ancient Cimmerians around Anatolia and the Black Sea, so on a modern map that points mainly to Turkey (with some spillover into the Black Sea/Caucasus region).
  • Beth-togarmah: Usually placed in the region of eastern/central Anatolia and the Armenian Highlands—so on a modern map, that’s mainly eastern Turkey and Armenia, sometimes extended toward neighboring Caucasus/Turkic areas.

Turkey’s Rhetoric is On The Rise; Did Trump Blink?

Turkey’s leadership is saying very clearly that Iran’s territorial integrity and internal affairs must not be touched, and they are framing Iran’s stability as directly tied to their own security. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan: “We oppose any military intervention in Iran. Iran must address its internal issues independently… our priority is to avoid destabilization there,” stressing that Turkey is “against a military intervention targeting Iran” and wants all disputes handled diplomatically.

President Erdoğan told Iran’s President Pezeshkian that Turkey “opposes any foreign intervention in Iran” and “values peace and stability” there, with Ankara’s readout explicitly framing this as respect for Iranian sovereignty. Turkish officials and state media add that an attack or collapse in Iran would create “serious security risks” for Turkey—refugee waves, militant groups along the border, and a Syrian‑style chaos—so preventing war in Iran is presented as a strategic necessity for Turkey’s own security.

in late January, Ankara reiterated it opposes any military intervention in Iran and warned of grave regional instability if the regime falls. Plainly, Ankara now treats Iran’s regime survival as part of Turkey’s national security, even if that means standing guard over the prison walls while the inmates are shot. And could this be why suddenly Trump is looking for every excuse to get out of this mess he’s found himself in?

Donald Trump, The Modern Day Jonah?

Whether Trump has realized it or not, he has been instrumental in many ways for piecing together an end-time scenario, most times working in spite of God instead of along side him. Donald Trump has put in place this “Board of Peace” plan, which I linked strongly to the fourth beast of the book of Daniel chapter 7. Daniel sees a fourth beast, terrifyingly different from the previous beast with iron teeth having 10 horns. From among them an 11th horn appears, a ‘little horn’ boasting great things. This is the antichrist, who I feel could make his appearance known just any time.

Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza and Israel is a perfect fit for Daniel chapter nine, in which the Bible says the antichrist will confirm a covenant with the many for a seven year period of time. While Trump has been very careful not to lay out the timeline for his peace plan, the plan is set to conclude in 2032, seven years from now. This also excludes the possibility that the antichrist doesn’t actually make the covenant himself, but is able to get all parties committed to following it.

It’s easy to think of the President in terms of Jonah the prophet. Many people don’t realize the reason Jonah ran from his duty to prophecy to the city of Nineveh, was because Jonah knew that one day Nineveh would be used as an instrument of God’s wrath against Israel. Just like Trump, Jonah’s heart was in the right place, but his actions were preventing God’s will more than helping it.

God’s Word and His Will

God’s word will come true; there is no debating that. For century after century, Satan has tried to thwart the word of God, despite that, we see God’s word coming true in every sense. And even in this day and age, God’s word will come true. Let’s take on more look at the book of Ezekiel and see how this unprovoked attack on Israel ends.

Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: 3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand. 4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD. – Ezekiel 39:1-5 KJV

The question is not will these things happen; the question is are you going to be one of those who heed the warning in advance, or are you going to wait too late? God’s word tells us, that as Christians,“so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.” – Matthew 24:33 NASB

I have studied Bible Prophecy since I was a teenager. I can honestly tell you without a doubt, we are staring eternity in the face. Receiving the gift of forgiveness is as easy as humbling yourself and receiving his gift of forgiveness. It doesn’t require a church, an alter, or a long ‘repeat after me’ prayer. Getting saved is as easy as following God’s word:

9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. – Romans 10:9-10 NLT
