The Reason There is No Doubt The Bible Is True
For years, I have wrestled with the question: Can we trust the Bible? I once wrote what I considered to be a very informative article on the merits of trusting the Bible. But a skeptic shot me down with considerable ease, by simply saying, in a nice way, “I don’t believe you.” That’s when I realized that the Bible once again, had proven itself true.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” – 1 Corinthians 1:18 KJV
And that is the crux of the difference between those of us who believe and those who don’t. It is a spiritual darkness we battle, not a battle of knowledge or of understanding. Those who don’t believe in the Bible are spiritually dead. That may sound harsh. The Bible told us about this condition, and I remember my mother warning me about rejecting Jesus. She warned me that a time would come when God would hand me over to a reprobate mind. Mom meant well, but she wasn’t telling me the full story of what it took to reach that unfortunate state.
But the truth of the matter is, from the very first time when you hear that call in your spirit from the Holy Spirit, each time you reject that call, it gets easier and easier to ignore that voice within you, and then you end up like my skeptic: Looking at the truth, but never being able to come to the understanding of it.
The Bottom Line of The Bible
There is no need, at least in my opinion, to make historical arguments and logical points in order to prove to someone else the Bible is real. After all, this thing is real or it isn’t: There is no middle ground. Either we’re making up religion as we go along and God isn’t real, or He is very real. If the Bible isn’t true and God is not real, we must wake up to the knowledge that this is the only life we’ll ever have. We need to drop this pretense of righteousness and live our lives to the fullest, giving in to every whim of desire, indulgence and riotous living. Live every moment to the fullest, because this is the only life we’ll ever have.
But if God is real, then the most imperative thing on this earth is to find out about him, and what, if anything, he requires from us. There is a school of thought that was popular in the 1980’s. That is, God really does exist; however, he has already given us everything we need not only to survive, but to thrive. He is a very hands off God, and made us as a boring experiment, and wants nothing to do with us.
But what is the truth? What is the Bible, and can we trust it to tell us about the One, True God? Again, I’m not going to rely on ancient texts and arguments to prove my point. Instead, I’m going to make one conclusion. To those who would question the veracity of the Bible, here is what I have to say: If God is real, and I certainly believe he is, then the God who created the universe is certainly able to keep His Word from becoming corrupted:
The Claims of Other Religions
There are three major religions on this earth, with dozens of sub-religions. One major religion, Islam, claims at one time the Bible was the word of God, however, the word became corrupted, and it was necessary to send God’s prophet, Mohammed, in order to correct the errors that had crept into the Old Testament we know today.
There is a major flaw in this thinking: One that goes to the heart of the entire matter. Is God real or is he not? I’ll say this as delicately as I can. If the God you believe in (Allah) was unable to keep his word from being corrupted, then I have to ask, is your god really God? How is it that an omnipotent, all-powerful creator of the universe, able to form everything we experience, unable to do a simple thing like stop His word from being corrupted?
There is a large sub-religious group here in America that believes the word of God was incomplete. These people called themselves the Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS), or the Mormons. They don’t like to be referred to as Mormons, but that’s the common name. They believe that over time, the word of God was lost. It became necessary for the angel Moroni to appear to Joseph Smith and complete the word of God with the book of Mormon.
“If the God you believe in (Allah) was unable to keep his word from being corrupted, then I have to ask, is your god really God?“
I often make a joke over the name “Moroni”, referring to him as the Italian angel. But there is a point to that. We only know the names of two angels: Michael and Gabriel. Both these names end in ‘el,’ which is the Hebrew name for God. Now, I’m not saying that every single angel has a name ending with ‘el’, but I am saying this: based upon the name alone, and the fact that a real God could stop his word from being corrupted, I have to conclude that Joseph Smith’s teachings are false.
Again, either this thing is real or it is not. If it’s not real, have at it: make up your religion as you go along, add things you think might be better, take away things you don’t like. After all, you’re just worshiping a thing in your own mind. But if the God you worship wasn’t able to keep his word from being corrupted, then I have to ask, are you worshiping God, or this idea Joseph Smith sold you? Have you been deceived?
I don’t say these things to offend, but I know people will be offended to read this. Which leads me to a saying I have:
“The truth may hurt, but it’s rarely fatal”
The Stark Reality of The Bible
The Bible is unique in all the world. There has never been a book like it in history; no book has ever contained such truth to the point where it verifies its own self. Not only does the Bible verify itself, but it refutes the claims of the antisemitic, the Holocaust deniers and directly rebukes the world’s attempts to discredit it.
The Bible does all these things by writing history in advance: Something no other book on earth has done, and done with 100% accuracy. There is no such thing as a failed prophecy in the Bible. There are prophecies that have come to pass, and those that have yet to come to pass. No other book on the face of the earth has the ability to woo you, to entice you into falling in love with it. No other book on earth has the ability to witness inside your spirit of its truth.
And by the same token, the Bible rejects the ‘Lost 10 Tribes’ nonsense, and those who would deny the people who call themselves Jews are actually the descendants of the Israelis who are written about in the Bible. Because the Bible has written the history of these Jewish people in advance, tracing their modern history before it happened.
The Bible’s Disclaimer
The Bible needs no disclaimer other than to say this book was written for you. It wasn’t written to be stored away in some secret library, only read by scholars and students, but meant to be read and understood by you. You don’t need anyone else to tell you what to believe. I am going to give a very real word of truth: If anybody tries to tell you ‘this is what the Bible really means,’ walk away. Don’t wait for service to end, get up, walk out and never go back. If you want to know what the Bible really means, read it for yourself.
The History of the Jews, In Advance
From the beginning of God’s interaction with Abram, who God later renamed Abraham, God began weaving a tapestry into the Bible, giving us glimpses into the future. As we are now living right at the end of this dimension called Time, most of these things have been fulfilled and we are some of the most blessed people to have ever lived: Because we can now look back at this tapestry and see its origins and how everything echoes clearly from the very beginning.
From the days of the book of Exodus, Deuteronomy and the Prophets, God has shown us exactly what would happen to his Jewish people, and those things have happened exactly as predicted.
Remember the summer of 2024? Consider the influx of Palestinians into America and how they stirred up college students across the country? Remember the infamous slogan that called for the outright genocide of the Jewish people. It stated, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Would you like to know where that came from? The Bible.
“I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, and from the desert to the Euphrates River.” – Exodus 23:31 NIV
If you asked a college student, ‘What river, and what sea?’, they couldn’t answer. But now we can say in response, “From the river to the sea, Israel is already free”.
We are not dealing with a mentality here, we are dealing with forces. Good vs. Evil has been the struggle from the time Adam ate the forbidden fruit, and here we are to this day still fighting the battle. Evil loves to take God’s word and pervert it, but the truth shines like a light into the darkness and the darkness has to flee.
11 “In that day “I will restore David’s fallen shelter —I will repair its broken walls and restore its ruins —and will rebuild it as it used to be, 12 so that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the nations that bear my name,” declares the LORD, who will do these things. 13 “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills,
14 and I will bring my people Israel back from exile. “They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit. 15 I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the LORD your God. – Amos 9:11-15 NIV
Modern Israel is a miracle by anyone’s standards. They have taken a barren land, a desert, and have turned it into a garden of Eden. Its fruits are exported to many parts of Europe. Despite economic sanctions, Israel has more water than it can use, more money than it can spend, and prospers in everything it sets its hand to. Right now, the Middle East, Iran in particular, suffers from drought. But approximately 1,000 miles away Israel has more water than they can use. Roughly from Topeka, Kansas, to Washington, D.C. That’s the distance from Israel to Iran.
“Evil loves to take God’s word and pervert it, but the truth shines like a light into the darkness and the darkness has to flee.“
And in case you’re wondering, Israel has offered to teach the Iranian government how to make the best use of water with their own inventions, such as drip irrigation and reverse osmosis desalination, with one condition: Peace. Iran refused. They would rather die of thirst than make peace with Israel. Where is their Allah now?
Major Events In Jewish History Predicted in the Bible
One of the most fascinating and tragic stories I have heard is the saga of the Jewish people is the dispersion of 135 A.D. At the time, the land was called “Judah”, hence the name “Jews” as a description of the people living there. There was no such thing as Palestine. Emperor Titus had his fill of the Jewish people: He declared that every single Jew were to be exiled from the land of Judah.
“Then the LORD will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods—gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known. 65 Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place for the sole of your foot. There the LORD will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart.
66 You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life. 67 In the morning you will say, “If only it were evening!” and in the evening, “If only it were morning!”—because of the terror that will fill your hearts and the sights that your eyes will see. – Deuteronomy 28:64-67 NIV
In the best estimates, Exodus was written about the 15th century, B.C. In other words, 1,400 to 1,500 years before it happened, the scattering of Israel happened. There’s only one explanation for this: A Supernatural Being, who doesn’t reside in this dimension of time we currently find ourselves in.
Emperor Titus was an especially cruel man. With the exception of the Temple Mount, he ordered that Jerusalem be leveled to the ground. He ordered the Temple to be preserved in order to convert it into a temple for his personal gods. However, whether set on fire by the Jews, or set on fire by the Roman Soldiers, the Temple burned.
The Temple itself was made of stone, so it was actually the contents that was set on fire. As the Temple heated up like an oven, the gold inside the temple melted and seeped into the cracks between the stones. Then, just as Jesus himself predicted, the Temple was torn apart stone by stone, in order to retrieve the melted gold.
“Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.” – Matthew 24:2 NIV
As a final insult to the Jewish people, Titus ordered the land to be renamed “Palestine”, which is the Latin form of the word Philistine, the ancient enemy of the Jews. In the story David and Goliath, Goliath is referred to by David as a Philistine. Who can forget the famous remark:
“This uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” – 1 Samuel 17:36 NKJV
And it was all predicted in advance, by the Bible.
The Holocaust
In one of the most horrible acts of atrocities committed on the Jews, during World War II the Germans built Extermination Camps as a means to commit genocide upon the Jewish people. Roughly 6 million Jews died during WWII. To this day, some of the most horrible photos and videos remain from that indescribable tragedy. Yet to this day people callously deny the Holocaust ever happened. But one thing that doesn’t deny the Holocaust is the Bible.
And so it shall be:
Instead of a sweet smell there will be a stench;
Instead of a sash, a rope;
Instead of well-set hair, baldness;
Instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth;
And branding instead of beauty.
25 Your men shall fall by the sword,
And your mighty in the war.
26 Her gates shall lament and mourn,
And she being desolate shall sit on the ground. – Isaiah 3:24-26 NIV
The parallels between this passage and the Holocaust are too numerous to be dismissed. The very passage gives you a visual, stunning similarity to exactly what happened to the Jews in Nazi occupied Europe during WWII. The reports included people who simply first described the Auschwitz Camp as ‘the smell’ (the Holocaust Encyclopedia).
Jews hanged by groups for the simplest of infractions of the rules, their bodies left hanging there as an example to the others. Men, women and children all shaved bald; the drab, horizontally striped uniforms, often made from the cheapest material available. The tattoos on their bodies, a number given as an identifier.
The strongest of the Jewish men were subjected to forced labor under conditions of starvation, exhaustion, disease, and brutality. Not receiving enough calories to meet the demands of physical labor while building armaments for the war. Others died in bombing campaigns to stop those armament factories.
The Jewish communities all over Europe laid waste, emptied and destroyed, while Jews were forced into ghetto style cities. Can anyone deny the accuracy of this scripture? The book of Isiah was estimated to be written between the years of 740-700 B.C., roughly 2,600 years before the Holocaust. Now let’s read this passage in Isaiah again.
And so it shall be:
Instead of a sweet smell there will be a stench;
Instead of a sash, a rope;
Instead of well-set hair, baldness;
Instead of a rich robe, a girding of sackcloth;
And branding instead of beauty.
25 Your men shall fall by the sword,
And your mighty in the war.
26 Her gates shall lament and mourn,
And she being desolate shall sit on the ground. – Isaiah 3:24-26 NIV
Can anyone deny the remarkable correspondence between this ancient passage and the events that unfolded more than 2,600 years later? The book of Isaiah is traditionally dated to the eighth century B.C., approximately 740–700 B.C.—roughly 2,600 years before the Holocaust.
This is where the Bible shines! This is the excitement of eschatology, the study of Bible prophecy. God hides things in plain sight; the book of Proverbs says it is the glory of God to hide a thing, and the glory of kings to search out a thing. This is a past-prophecy. It was hidden for 2,600 years only to become known after the fact. These little nuggets of wisdom are hidden throughout the Bible just awaiting their discovery.
In Conclusion:
I could literally write a book proving the Bible true beyond the shadow of a doubt to anyone willing to stop listening to others and open their mind. I never ask people to take my word for anything; open the Bible for yourself and ask God to make himself known to you. WARNING: This might lead to a complete change of lifestyle, a monumental shift of values, and what will definitely be a complete change for the better. Get ready to worry less, be happy, and look forward to the future.
