Does Modern Society Have No Lows They Refuse to Stoop?
22 September 2026:In an absolutely despicable demonstration of moral bankruptcy, the state of Illinois is attempting to enforce a new law that would require Catholic nuns caring for terminally ill patients to perform assisted suicide. Obviously, the state’s lawmakers have no respect for these ladies who have dedicated their lives to caring for the sick.
A lawsuit filed on behalf of Archbishop Blase Cupich of Chicago and two orders of nuns asked a federal court to protect the plaintiffs from the assisted suicide law, per a release from legal advocacy group Becket. A Federal Judge has since ruled in favor of the plaintiffs, blocking the state from forcing these nuns from performing assisted suicide on their patients.
“This order means they can continue caring for patients according to their faith without being forced to assist with suicides or punished for speaking a life-affirming message against suicide,” Becket* said in the release
“All of them serve patients according to their Catholic faith, which calls them to heal and protect human life, not end it,” the release continued.
It is the corruption of the worldly mindset that rationalizes murder. This idea diminishes the value of human life and, as demonstrated by Canada, reduces people to mere animals who are put to death when the state decides their lives lack meaning.
The Canadian Government Has Killed Two Innocent People… So Far
In two separate Canadian cases in 2026 involved people who had previously requested assisted death but later changed their minds, yet were still euthanized. Both cases are now the subject of intense scrutiny and, in one instance, a police investigation.
Brigitte Stegemann (Ontario, July 2026)
- 83‑year‑old woman died by Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) on July 10, 2026.
- Her family says she had previously refused MAiD, citing her Christian faith.
- Days before her death, she reportedly said “she made a mistake” and wanted to live.
- Her granddaughter alleges Stegemann failed basic cognitive‑capacity questions, raising concerns about whether she could legally consent.
- Belleville Police have opened a criminal investigation into whether she was euthanized against her stated wishes.
This is the clearest example of someone who changed their mind and may have been euthanized anyway.
“Mrs. B” (Ontario, January–February 2026)
This case is also widely reported and involves an even more explicit reversal.
- Elderly woman in her 80s initially requested MAiD.
- The next day, she told the assessor she wanted to withdraw her request, citing personal and religious beliefs.
- She asked for palliative care instead.
- Her husband, experiencing caregiver burnout, requested a second assessment, which approved MAiD the same day.
- A third assessor confirmed it, and she was euthanized that evening.
- The Ontario MAiD Death Review Committee concluded her death was against her stated wishes and raised concerns about coercion and rushed assessments.
A Canadian MP publicly stated: “That’s called murder.”
This is a prime example of the end times prophecy:
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. – Romans 1:28 NIV
So did Canada kill someone who changed their mind?
Yes. Both Stegemann and Mrs. B explicitly reversed their decision, and both were euthanized anyway. In Stegemann’s case, police are investigating; in Mrs. B’s case, the official MAiD review committee concluded safeguards failed and her death should not have occurred.
These cases have intensified national debate about MAiD, consent, coercion, and whether safeguards are being eroded.
The Continued Depravity of Those Who Refuse To Acknowledge God Are Becoming Quite Evident
This is exactly what the Bible tells us will happen in the last days. Things are going on in this world and even right here in the United States that our Founding Fathers would rise up and start yet another Revolution over. People who have absolutely no regard for the life of their fellow man is reminiscent of the world during Noah’s time:
Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. 12 God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. – Genesis 6:11-12 NLT
So, America, are you ready for this brave new Socialist world? Would you like to see the government deciding on whether or not you can hope for a miracle? This is what these truly demented people see as a better future for us. Don’t be fooled by their promises that they only want what’s best for the person involved: What did Canada do on two occasions when people said they had changed their minds?
Let’s look at the words of Jesus:
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. – Matthew 10:29-31 NIV
In the book of Philippians, the Apostle Paul wrote:
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” – Philippians 2:3-4 NIV
I believe in the miraculous power of healing; even more, I’ve seen it happen with my own eyes. There is absolutely no such thing as No Hope!
What is happening in Canada is nothing short of wicked. People getting perverse joy from the execution of elderly people thinking they are doing something noble. And now with the full backing of the law. And apparently, Illinois wants to copy Canada. The Bible tells us to value the wellbeing of others as greater than ourselves. If the world would simply adopt that one principle, all crime, violence and murder would disappear off the streets. But apparently, these people think that would be a bad thing.
The Wickedness of a World Gone Wrong
Another thing the world hates is anything having to do with religion. They themselves prove the reality of who Jesus is, by doing the very things he tells us will happen in the last days.
18 “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. 19 The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. 20 Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. – John 15:18-20 NLT
The world would love us to think these people are benevolent human beings who are trying to make the world a better place. The truth, however, is far more troubling. These dark science-fiction stories we’ve read. They want you to live in a world where the government knows your every move and watches you constantly. In the now infamous saying, “You will own nothing, and be happy,” the scariest thing is they actually believe it. But let me ask you, would you be happy?
Though the world may come against us on all fronts, the name of Jesus is more than powerful enough to stop these monsters in their tracks! These are real people just like you and me, and they deserve to live a life free of demonic influence. Pray and rebuke these evil spirits, pray that God’s word shall prevail. Furthermore, it is your absolute responsibility to vote in each and every election. Voting can improve your life and the lives of everyone around you.
