Finding Clarity In Today’s Society
Like most of you, I have been watching current events with a wide array of emotions. First of all, there is the frustration of what most of us see as completely unreasonable events. Men in women’ s sports; the ever expanding list of pronouns that will soon need an entire dictionary of their own; men having the right to walk into a women’ s bathroom; the idea that children may not be old enough to drink, smoke, vape of even drive, but are old enough to decide to be transgender.
Then the outright anger. Two people, who were young; a handsome young man and a beautiful young lady, both who were very smart, with their entire lives ahead of them, senselessly gunned down over nothing more than their ancestry. I’m talking about the recent terrorist event at the Jewish Heritage Museum in Washington, D.C. People who commit crimes against Jews, but are not prosecuted by liberal prosecutors, because their careers are more important than justice. People who gather together in prayer only to be attacked by organized militant groups.
Then there is fear. Can you safely send your children to school? Go out in public? The sudden embrace of lawlessness by liberals who not only condemn the enforcement of law, but have somehow made their way into power?
If you don’t know Christ, then you have very good reason to be terrified! Not only do you have good reason, but things are only getting worse from here. This is only a shadow, a preview of what is coming! But for Christians, we know all these things that are happening are simply signs that the most monumental event in the history of the world is about to take place.
We Are Not Alone
There is no good reason for a Christian to feel hopeless. I know, I myself struggle with anger and frustration. I literally cringe when I think about these things that are happening right here in America. You need to read my other blog on this very same site: Signs of the Times. More than once I mention how much the world has changed in the years I’ve been alive. When I think of the times when I was young, it’s like thinking about a different world. If you are under 30, you have no idea what my time as a youth was like.
It’s hard to see the America I knew when I was younger turn into this evil generation. The things that pass for acceptable now would never have taken place in my America. Recently I made a comment about all the earthquakes, particularly those on the east coast as being our Founding Fathers rolling over in their graves. A country where laws are enforced at the discretion of a mob of protestors?
But as Christians we are not alone! We have a very real, very interested God who watches over us day and night. And His word promises us that ‘not one hair on our head shall perish (Luke 21:18). Not only do we have a God, but we have a Savior Jesus Christ who completed our redemption by dying in our place. This gives us the right to come to God the Father with boldness.
The Writing Is On The Wall
All these things are happening around us and will continue to happen and it will get worse. This is simply a progression of events that take place when a group of people turn their backs on God. Some people may believe this is some sort of judgement. But that is not the case. This is more of cause and effect, as was clearly laid out in the Bible. The Bible tells us that God has reserved his judgement on mankind for now, in order to get them the opportunity to repent. But those days are drawing to an end.
So let’s lay this out in very simple terms. First of all, there will be no excuses. I’ve heard many people say foolish things like when they face God they’re going to say things like, why didn’t you let me know you were real? That isn’t going to fly. Why did you make me gay? He didn’t. These are simply the arrogant ponderings of those who have already knowingly turned their backs on God and the Bible proves it: (For this I will be using the New Living Translation in the hope that if an unbeliever reads this, he or she will be able to understand the plain modern language of the translation)
18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. – Romans 1:18-20 NLT
Do you realize what this is saying? God has made his presence obvious! God is telling us that through his creation, his existence is obvious, and therefore people will not be able to use the excuse of atheism in order to justify their sins. As a Christian you know this is true. We live in a fallen, corrupt world.Yet despite its current state, there are beautiful places all over this earth.
The Law of Entropy and Creation

Do you see how even AI talks about nature in a way that implies a design, an order of things? In fact, Microsoft’s AI directly attributes this ability to ‘work with nature in a clever way’. As if this ethereal, non-entity ‘nature’ has a consciousness and can work around problems!
So, without even realizing it, scientists already acknowledge that a power of some sort actively works to find ways around problems.
As Goes One Part, So Goes Another
Now we see that we have this group of people who knowingly turn their backs on the knowledge of God. Now the Bible says what happens is a result of that disobedience. Not that God is judging someone but as simple cause and effect. For example, you get in a car, start it, put it in gear, and press the gas. Would you be surprised if the car moved forward? You’d be surprised if it didn’t!
21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. – Romans 21-23 New Living Translation
Now we see the effect. Their minds become dark and confused. They believe themselves to be wise, but instead they become foolish in their thinking! Stop and reflect on that for a moment! Do you think it’s foolish to allow men to participate in women’s sports? Do you wonder why anyone would think that is acceptable? Now you know why.
“They worshipped idols made to look like mere people, birds and animals.” The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same. In today’s vernacular they have simply hidden their idols. They call this ‘Nature’, ‘Mother Nature’, ‘Mother earth’. Some even call it ‘Evolution’. But no matter the name they give it, they have replaced the One True Living God with an idol; this idol may be symbolic in nature, but it is an idol nonetheless. Because to believe all this came from simply nothing, or a huge series of coincidence is just too unbelievable for anyone to accept. Whether they admit it or not.
Another thing scientists have given supernatural powers to is time. Take nothing, add a few billion years of time, and viola! You have a completely formed universe, ready to move it. It is nothing short of mind boggling that scientists are willing to give these natural things supernatural abilities, but won’t recognize the supernatural ability of a Creator.
24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. Do you think homosexuality is the problem? NO! It is nothing more than a symptom of a problem. Not all people fall into homosexuality; but no matter what evil their hearts desire, they give in to those desires. And do you see why? Not because God has cursed them, but because he abandoned them to the evil one. This is why mothers kill their children; and why fathers kill their entire families. Why a stranger walks into a public place and kills people at random. And that is why you see all of these things happening with increased frequency;because they have refused to acknowledge God.
We Have Focused on the Wrong things
When I was young, just a kid, the Beatles exploded onto the scene. I remember being in 4th grade and having long hair and people ‘mistaking’ me for a girl. My mother was a Missionary Baptist; and if you’ve never suffered much in your life, may I recommend a Missionary Baptist Church? At church we had a New Year’s eve service called ‘Night Watch’. Basically it was the worst New Year’s Eve party on earth. No one believed in playing guitars in church, no one believed in dancing, drinking, women wearing pants, and believe it or not, nobody believed in clapping their hands. I kid you not.
Here I was this little long haired kid at Night Watch service. The pastor even got up on the stage to remark he had seen a child that ‘I couldn’t tell you if it was a boy or girl’. While churches all over the country played these silly games of trying to earn righteousness, the real war was going on behind their backs. In 1963 the Supreme Court ruled that Bible study could no longer be taught in schools. Some years before, evolution was introduced as an alternative to creation.
So in a very real way, we are simply harvesting the crops we planted in negligence. We allowed ourselves to be focused on the mundane, the shallow, the nonsensical rather than keep our nation clean of all this evil through the underlying cause: Idol worship. If you teach a child he is nothing but an animal, don’t be surprised if he acts like an animal. If you teach a child that unborn lives doesn’t matter, then don’t be surprised when he doesn’t think any life matters.
30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. – Romans 1:30-32 New Living Translation
Now we see the full harvest of their actions and it reads like an excerpt from a news story. I once hurt some feelings with a very real comment I made. Not because I wanted to hurt someone or offend them, but because sometimes the bold truth is needed to wake someone up. This is what I said:
“So basically you scrimp and save, trying to build up a decent college fund. You buy store brand food, you cut corners, you even shop at Goodwill, just to make sure that your child has a future. Then you send them off to some prestigious college like Harvard, Princeton or some other college. And four years later they send you back a blue-haired, face pierced, anti-Semitic, non-conformist who spends the next 20 years living in your basement”
While this may seem harsh, it is an accurate statement about the programming into your child’s mind that happens when they go off to college. While this doesn’t happen to every student, the percentages are high enough to make any parent cautious about sending a child off to any higher education facility.
There’s a Light At the End of The Tunnel, and It’s Not an Oncoming Train
The more we see these things come to pass, the more we should lift up our heads! The more excited we should be. While things are terrible on this planet right now, there is about to be a huge change!Imagine a world without crime; a world without hunger, homelessness, or disease. Imagine a time when people are happy, and the air is clear and water is pure. Living in a world where snakes are no longer poisonous, lions and tigers no longer pose a threat to humans.
No this isn’t some made up fantasy world, In fact this is how the world was intended to be in the first place. The garden of Eden was a real place; and it will be remade again. And someday we as children of God will be able to live there. But for right now, we have nothing to fear about the events taking place upon this earth.
But that doesn’t mean we don’t have a duty to fulfill while we’re here. We can make big changes to the world around us! Hasten the return of the Lord, by spreading the Gospel. We can make sure those who are hurting around us have the tools they need to turn their lives around if that is what they want to do.
Remember we have to be like God; if someone is on a road to destruction we have no right to pull them off that road. We can tell them about the road they’re on; we can offer every type of assistance possible. But the one thing we cannot do is interfere with their right to choose to destroy themselves.
