For years, Charlie Kirk crisscrossed America, stepping onto college campuses not to conform—but to confront. He challenged the prevailing narratives with conservative values, common sense, and unapologetic Christianity.
Charlie Kirk was born on my birthday, October 14th; however, he was born 30 years later than me in 1993. He grew up in Prospect Heights, Illinois, in a family with a mental health counselor mother and architect father. He briefly attended Harper College before dropping out to pursue activism full-time. He founded Turning Point USA in 2012 at just 18 years old, with the goal of promoting conservative values on high school and college campuses.
Kirk became a prominent voice in conservative media, hosting The Charlie Kirk Show, a nationally syndicated radio program. He was a close ally of President Donald Trump and frequently spoke out on issues like critical race theory, climate change skepticism, and COVID-19 policies. His organization, Turning Point USA, grew into a massive youth movement, known for its provocative campus events and initiatives like the “Professor Watchlist.”
Faith and Values
Kirk’s Christian faith was central to his worldview. He later founded Turning Point Faith; an initiative aimed at mobilizing religious communities around conservative causes. He often referred to his faith as “the most important thing” in his life. He became a Christian in the 5th grade but said it took years before he truly understood the meaning of salvation. He spoke candidly about being “a total, absolute sinner,” not to glorify brokenness, but to magnify the grace that rescued him. He saw salvation not as something earned, but as a gift— “like being picked up by a lifeboat.” His faith matured over time, and he often prayed that others would find the same redemption and connection he had. He believed strongly in the role of the church in society, saying, “Even the most hardened atheists or agnostics are blessed by the church’s influence”
Charlie was married to Erika Frantzve, a fellow Christian and podcaster. They shared a deep spiritual bond and worked together on faith-based projects like BIBLE365 and the apparel line PROCLAIM. They had two children—a daughter born in 2022 and a son in 2024. Charlie was fiercely protective of their privacy, choosing not to share their names or faces publicly. He often said that his family was his inspiration and strength, and those close to him described their home as one filled with love, laughter, and shared faith.
Charlie believed in truth, righteousness, and the power of free speech. He saw college campuses as battlegrounds for ideological clarity and moral conviction. He was unapologetically bold in his defense of Christian values and often spoke out against what he saw as moral relativism and cultural confusion. His activism wasn’t just political—it was spiritual. He viewed his work as a mission to protect young minds from what he called “a demonic agenda” eroding America’s moral fabric.
Charlie Kirk lived with a sense of divine purpose. Whether you agreed with his politics or not, his faith was sincere, and his values were unwavering.
Consequences and Implications
While I’m certain the radical left is celebrating behind closed doors, they’ve miscalculated. Every martyr sows the seeds of revival. In every instance, in every single event, when Christians become the target of persecution, revival breaks out. God gives us a spirit of boldness, of determination, fearlessness. We become eager to confront the evil that surrounds us, not hide in fear asking if we’re next. No, we didn’t lose anything today. Right now, Charlie Kirk sees the face of God; and right now, he has God’s ear. He will no doubt ask God to take care of his family; but I’m sure he’s also asking God to raise people up to take his place.
We’re seeing that spiritual condition manifest in real time: people not only rejecting righteousness but celebrating wickedness. The conscience—once a God-given compass—is now cauterized. And when that happens, Isaiah’s warning echoes loud: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil” (Isaiah 5:20).
In a very real way, I envy Charlie. While this earth is full of suffering, hate, violence and strife, he is seeing his loved ones who went on before him. He is definitely in a better place than we. He is in a place where there is no terrorism, there are no wars, famines or disease. While we struggle to carry on here below, Charlie has finished his race; and as Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, “Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
And lest we forget, this is yet another sign of the times. Jesus spoke out very plainly and clearly about persecution in the last days.
“Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. 10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come. – Matthew 24:10-14 NLT
12 “But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers. 13 But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me. 14 So don’t worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, 15 for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you! 16 Even those closest to you—your parents, brothers, relatives, and friends—will betray you. They will even kill some of you. 17 And everyone will hate you because you are my followers. – Luke 21:12-17 NLT
9 When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of all who had been martyred for the word of God and for being faithful in their testimony. 10 They shouted to the Lord and said, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you judge the people who belong to this world and avenge our blood for what they have done to us?” 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them. And they were told to rest a little longer until the full number of their brothers and sisters—their fellow servants of Jesus who were to be martyred—had joined them. – Revelation 6:9-11 NLT
In closing, Charlie Kirk was an inspiration to some and a thorn in the side of others. He was controversial, confrontational, and bold enough to tell the truth which is becoming very politically incorrect in this society where moral absolutes have been destroyed. Just as the Bible says, everyone does what is right in their own eyes. Charlie Kirk stood toe-to-toe with the powers of deception and dared to declare, “The Emperor has no clothes.” That courage cost him his life—but it may awaken thousands. But in his death, many will step forward to take his place. Many will receive God’s gift of salvation; and many will find the courage to follow his example. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
