The earthquake came roughly 90 minutes after Charlie was pronounced dead

Geologists are asking questions about the day Charlie Kirk was shot and killed. On the very same day, not too far from the exact location, an unusual earthquake occurred in Utah. And the question was why? In a video posted on YouTube titled, “WHY Did This Weird Quake Rattle Northeastern Utah? Geologist Analysis.” Geology professor Shawn Willse explores what appears to be a mantle earthquake—an extremely rare seismic event originating deep within the Earth’s upper mantle rather than the crust. According to the geologist, the last comparable quake in that region was in 2020, and this one struck on the very day Charlie Kirk was assassinated.

Statistical Data

The earthquake happened roughly 90 minutes after the shooting itself. A magnitude 4.1 earthquake which is also very rare for a mantle earthquake, usually mantle earthquakes are not felt but measured by sensors. This one was actually felt by nearby residents. It was 68 km., deep, that’s 42.25 miles. In fact,it is considered extraordinarily deep. Most crustal quake happen within the top 10 to 20 miles. This one originated in the upper mantle, a zone that’s usually too soft and ductile to fracture. It was located in an area known as the Uinta Basin, northeast Utah.

The last mantle earthquake was a 1.7 magnitude in 2020. The quake occurred in a region not well known for deep seismic activity. There are no major fault lines nearby that would explain a rupture at this depth. Seismic sensors picked up low-frequency vertical motion, unlike typical lateral crustal waves. Some people who felt the quake described the motion as “gentle turbulence,” like being nudged from below. Geologist Shawn Willsey noted that oil well depths in the area reach 17,000 feet, but this quake was more than 40 miles deeper, ruling out fracking or drilling as a cause.

What is a Mantle Earthquake?

A mantle earthquake is an extremely rare earthquake that typically occurs 60–200 km below the surface, far deeper than most quakes. The ground temperature at that depth is close to 1,000 degrees Celsius, almost 1,832 degrees Fahrenheit. These are uncommon because the mantle is more ductile than brittle, making it less prone to sudden rupture. A very real and accurate description of a mantle earthquake could be referred to as a “Deep Shift”, which would exactly explain the repercussions the US is feeling as a result of the Kirk assassination.

Symbolic Interpretation and Scriptural Reference

While at this point there is no solid evidence this was any type of ‘sign’ from God (nor would there ever be), the Symbolic Interpretations are startling and hard to ignore.

Mantle = Authority: In biblical language, a mantle represents calling or leadership. A mantle quake could symbolize a shift in spiritual or national authority. The Bible tells us that Elijah wore a ‘mantle’. No exact descriptions are given, but given the context of how it was used, it is comparable to a wide scarf or perhaps a cloak. But the exciting part is this: When Elijah was taken to heaven, his mantle fell on Elisha, symbolizing Elijah’s authority was passed onto Elisha!

11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes and rent them in two pieces.
13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan. – 2 Kings 2:11-13 KJV

Double portion: Elisha asks for twice the spirit Elijah carried, a bold request that’s honored. This could symbolize the intensity of the earthquake, more than doubling in size from the last earthquake in 2020. This would be a perfect description for the monumental uprising we see among conservative; people in vast numbers pledging to take up the cause that Charlie championed; speaking about his conservative views with boldness and courage.

Deep Calls to Deep: Echoes Psalm 42:7— “deep calls unto deep”—suggesting a stirring in unseen realms. Again, an astonishing number of people who were formerly democrats and liberals have been so shocked, not at the death itself, but the reaction from the democrat party and liberal who openly cheered the death of Charlie Kirk, a very accurate pun would be to say the shift in this country has been nothing short of ‘Seismic.’

Warning or Confirmation: Could be interpreted as a warning of deeper unrest or a confirmation that something hidden has been exposed. Earthquakes have been frequently associated with major events in the Bible. When Moses climbed to the top of Mt. Sinai to receive the law of the covenant, there was an earthquake. When Jesus was crucified in Jerusalem, the moment he died, there was a ‘great earthquake’. There was another earthquake when he was raised from the dead on the third day. Paul and Silas were put into prison, and at midnight they were singing and praising God. An earthquake occurred the caused all the cell doors to spring open.

There are several other times in the Bible prophecy where significant events were marked by earthquakes. Four events in the book of Revelation alone were marked by great earthquakes.

Symbolic Themes

Judgment: Earthquakes often signal divine displeasure or correction.

Revelation: They accompany moments when heaven breaks into earth.

Transition: From old covenant to new, from bondage to freedom, from death to resurrection.

My Opinion on Charlie Kirk, Democrats and Earthquakes

We’ve covered facts, now lets gather those facts and come to a conclusion. The assassination of Charlie Kirk has been compared to the assassination of Martin Luther King. This is a landmark event in this country. Millions of people in London, England took to the streets to mourn the death of Charlie Kirk. I know this has galvanized me; from now on, I refuse to filter the truth as I’ve sadly done in the past. Many times I have pulled paragraphs out of stories simply because I asked myself if the truth might be too hard for some people to hear. Those days are over.

All over America, people have taken to social media to express their outrage, not only for the assassination itself, but the way democrats have reacted. And those shameful comments are not only inexcusable, but 100% UNACCEPTABLE. Personally, I have a hard time overcoming that. To be honest, I am having a tough time forgiving that.

As stated before, when Jesus died on the cross, there was an earthquake. Am I comparing Jesus to Charlie Kirk? Of course not, but that earthquake in Utah was a sign, not to the world, they see these things and are blinded to the spiritual significance. That earthquake was a sign to us. The Bible tells us in the last days we will be the target of persecution. Charlie Kirk was the first American martyr, but he won’t be the last. But now it is up to us! Let us get bold, let us get loud, let us stand up as a witness to the fact that God has given us a Spirit of boldness.

These are without a doubt the last days of this present age. Very soon, an event will come that will rock the world, a rapture of the church. Get ready for this, you won’t like being left behind. This was very interesting to read and see just how significant the earthquake was. I was raised a Christian, have never doubted that following Christ is the right path or doubter the existence of our God. I fully believe that we are in the end times since everything the Bible told us would happen is happening. So tell me, what is wrong with me? Why is it that I can’t give up walking in the selfish ways of the world? Why do I waste my time here on earth seemingly unable to live giving everything to God when I don’t know how much time I have left? I don’t feel sad for Charlie, the same way I don’t feel sad for my daughter who was stillborn – I know they’re in the best place and I wouldn’t wish them back here. I feel pain that those of us who are left behind suffer and I know that God has a plan in everything that happens, yet we cannot see what this will be. I want to know how I start becoming closer to God in the knowledge that “faith without works is dead” but I don’t seem able to. I sit here in my depression and my health conditions feeling sorry for myself and wasting the time I/we have left. I feel terrified of the day that’s coming when I know I have to be strong enough to face death and still shout out that I LOVE MY GOD!! I’m sure nobody will read this, but it’s almost like I’m not typing it myself. It’s not what I intended to write when I started leaving this comment and it somehow just wrote itself, so maybe God is trying to help me with this. Anyway, as I said, it was interesting to read this.

Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts and feelings. I truly appreciate you and your struggles.

Like you, my wife and I once suffered through a stillborn pregnancy. At 7 months, our son Jeremy simply passed away. But let me correct you on one thing: You haven’t lost a daughter. You know where she is, and she knows where you are. That’s not lost—that’s separated. And separation is a temporary condition.

As far as your inability to feel sad, perhaps you’re not such a failure after all. Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 4:13 that we are not like the world; we do not grieve like the rest of the world does, because we have hope.

Both my parents are dead, and I can tell you—I cried more when my dog died. Because I know I’m going to see my parents again, but I don’t know the same is true for my dog.

Now you say you’re struggling with the cares of this world: Welcome to being a true Christian. I would worry about you if you didn’t struggle. The fact that you recognize these things and wrestle with them means you’re like the Apostle Paul.

Paul goes into detail on his own struggles in Romans 7:15–20, where he talks openly and frankly about his conundrum: “For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” That sounds almost exactly like what you’re describing. So change that moniker to “Struggling Christian,” because you are not failing—you’re just giving voice to what we all go through.

Do you want to be closer to God? Quit trying to earn it.

You say “faith without works is dead,” but do you know what works you’re expected to do? John did. In the Gospel of John, Jesus tells us: “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”

A lot of people know the Scripture “without faith, it is impossible to please God,” but few understand what it means. Want to please God? Turn that Scripture around. If it’s impossible to please God without faith, then what is the only thing that pleases Him? Faith.

Without faith, your works mean nothing. Stop fretting over trying to please God and realize—you already are, if you genuinely believe in Him.

Make time every day to read your Bible. Not because reading it pleases God, but because reading it increases your faith. And if you truly want to please God, faith is the way to go.

I will pray for you. But you also need to realize something: If you weren’t a threat to him, Satan wouldn’t harass you like this.

Once you get your mind clear and realize you are a joint heir with Jesus—heirs according to the promise—you’ll find that inside yourself is a warrior like few others. I believe that. Your struggles prove it.

I genuinely hope these words God has given me help you on your path.

      In Christ, Tim
